She is celebrated for her narrative-driven, imaginative line illustrations and stylized everyday vignettes. The Hymysuu print was originally created by designer Maija Louekari in 2014. It debuted as part of Marimekko’s Spring/Summer children's collection that year, infusing their modern kids' apparel line with fresh, colorful storytelling. While it draws heavy inspiration from the bold, flat-planed landscape styles of 1960s Scandinavian art, it is a contemporary classic from the last decade.
