Fall Patchwork Sherpa Jacket

I bought this from a local artist/designer market in Edmonton. Is a thinner material better for spring or fall. Note that those are fake pockets this has no pockets. Also it says size small but I’m a large and it was still oversized on me so this would be a very oversized small.
