newlenox2016 Bought the John hardy single earring. Is this even authentic?? The engraving on the dangle is so lousy & I don’t see any stamp on the huggie that says is John hardy or the original logo!

patinarbo @newlenox2016 it is absolutely authentic. It was custom made through a jeweler to match one I thought I had lost. I can show you a photo of the pair I have. All were purchased at a jewelry store in Milwaukee that carried a beautiful selection of John Hardy. East Towne Jewelers I have at least eight pieces of John Hardy purchased from them.

newlenox2016 @patinarbo I will create a listing in my closet & just check the pictures. On the logo the J & H are supposed to be on top of the other. The stamps should be crisp & clear. And like I said, on the stud- I don’t see any logo at all

patinarbo @newlenox2016 I understand your call outs. I checked my pair and it’s very hard to see the markings. I also looked at other John Hardy earrings I have and some have very clear markings (generally larger pieces) and others are not as clear (smaller earrings) All were purchased at the same jeweler. I tried to photograph mine but I am having trouble getting clear enough images blown up. Do you know if he changed his method of marking his work over time? These are older pieces.

newlenox2016 @patinarbo I have only few but I’ve checked his other jewelry online and I didn’t see any change. I was so excited when I received it, looks real, so I accepted it right away. I actually planned to make the dangling part as a pendant. I can probably keep it even if it’s not JH but I did the acid test & it’s not a real gold. Most likely a replica. Problem is Poshmark won’t reverse the payment that’s already released to you.

newlenox2016 @patinarbo I don’t think it matters if it’s not even a real gold

patinarbo I have so many John Hardy pieces I purchased from this jeweler in John Hardy boxes etc. I don’t know how they could not be authentic. She is still in business and I can call her and ask questions if you want me to. Again I truly want you to be happy and 100% satisfied.

patinarbo My husband just told me something that’s interesting. He said that this jeweler was one of the very first places to sell John Hardy’s jewelry when he was first getting started. The earrings may be some of the first designs he offered. Maybe his markings changed once he really became a name?

patinarbo @newlenox2016 My husband was able to magnify mine on his phone. It is also a rougher JH. I think what we might have are actually early earrings made by John Hardy himself before he had a legion of employees making it for him. They are vintage early pieces.
