mizfit83 Breast cancer? Me too- I had a double mastectomy about two years ago when I was 35. And then had my entire stomach removed after finding out that I was CDH1 positive (High risk for breast and stomach cancer.) It’s nice to see another pink sister out there 🎗(Imagine this ribbon in pink LOL) I’m about to make a cancer rearview mirror ornament for a car! I called them Dangles LOL because they dangle from your rearview mirror! I’ll let you know when I get it complete!

crankymisfit @mizfit83 @mizfit83 awww, Life threw us a curveball at the same time. Mine was two years ago as well. I got THAT unexpected phone call on March 8th. My cancer was idiosyncratic, so after chemo the only surgeries I had lined up were for breast reconstruction. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have one’s stomach removed. Do they repurpose the small intestine? Sorry. I am just thinking out loud. It certainly is nice to meet a pink 🌸🌸 Sister here, Erica.

mizfit83 @crankymisfit 🙌🏽😍 Yepp! They cut that sucker out and see my small intestine to my esophagus, then do a little boogie around my liver by inserting a y-valve to shoot digestive enzymes into my intestine to help with absorption. I’m sure I messed that explanation up but 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s something like that! I puke a lot of my food back up, I get heartburn, and the worst part—- I cannot drink water (it makes me instantly nauseas) in fact, I can hardly drink liquid at all. It’s a chore 😐

mizfit83 @crankymisfit - thank you so much for your words of encouragement—- some days it’s so hard. It feels like the “after” cancer is soooo much harder than during (chemo, hair loss, sick, etc) I’m hormone positive so I’ve got a pill I need to take daily that literally has turned me into an unrecognizable monster 👹. It’s all I can do some days to just “let be” You are truly inspiring yourself. It’s nice to talk to someone who understands 😍

crankymisfit @mizfit83 Yep. I agree 💯. Post-cancer is when the actu work begins. With immediate menopause and no hormones It feels like someone pulled the rug from under your feet. The psychological battle to maintain sanity every day makes surgeries and chemo seem like a piece of cake. Going to the gym helps me ground myself most of the time. It sure is nice to talk to you too! 💗

mizfit83 @crankymisfit I miss the gym. I’m a bodybuilder. I lost my strength and my mojo a few months ago. :-( I’m making a conscious decision to start on Tuesday. I have my own little gym in my garage too. Rouge racks, db, power plates, kbs, etc. I own a fitness training business- “BodyScape Fitness.” And still actively train clients

It is what it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I would have liked to have been able to say “I have come to terms with life’s disappointments”, but that wouldn’t have been the truth. I am still working on it. I do, however, try to live life to the fullest. Went rappelling in Costa Rica and almost had a heart attack. 🤣 Enough “living” for now.

I am fully recovered now anxious to get passed Montana’s snow covered streets.☃️ Like you I got discouraged by Poshmark a while ago (low ROI) and need a bit of motivation to become more active as a seller. Actually getting back in touch with the friends I made here might do it. 😃
