Vintage Grès Scarf Silk Peacock Bird Square Scarf
Shawl Paris 60s 70s France
Size: 32" Sq
Vintage House of Grès large square scarf in 100% silk.
Likely 1970s.
Beige Asian-inspired branches and a peacock in a rainbow of colors. Hand-rolled edges.
Overall great condition with no rips or snags, but a few small marks in various places (zoom into the first picture, but not very noticeable).
Born as Alix Barton, Madame Grès (1903-1993) was a leading French couturier and costume designer, founder of haute couture fashion house Grès in 1942. The House of Grès-called "the most intellectual place in Europe to buy clothes" by The New York Times-became one of the world's biggest fashion brands, rivaling Chanel and Dior.
