Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet by Hopi Artist Marlin Honhongva- Nephew of Charles Lolama, son of his niece Sherion Honhongva.
This incredible sterling silver cuff consists of cobblestone inlays of Lapis Lazuli & Pyrite, Sugalite, Fossil Ivory, Arizona Ironwood, Red Coral, Lone Mountain Turquoise, Persian Turquoise, and vintage Royston Turquoise. Signed by Marlin Honhongva on the inside of the cuff.
Marlin’s silversmithing skills were passed directly from his mother Sherion, who in turn was taught by her uncle, Charles Loloma, the renowned Hopi silversmith. She began working with Charles in his studio alongside his sister Verma in 1976. Both Sherion and Verma remained in the studio completing all of Charles’ remaining design orders after he passed away in 1991, as well creating pieces under their own names.
Cuff flows from a 1” width on one end to a ¾” width on the opposite. The width of the stones also follows this angled design. The cuff is 5 ¾” inside with a gap of 1” for a total of 6 ¾”.
