Also they may have added it to see if they liked anything else in your closet and possibly never got around to it or found more things. Hope that helps.

truekittycat1 Hey Winter. I heard back from my contact. From the description, she said it could be 1914 smooth in purple, or the 1914 Triumph in Navy ( which she said looks purple). I did see a vintage pair with the purple stitching and eyelets MIE recently. They were different from the newer ones- the stitching. Cat😺

But does that mean the the boot itself is purple? Definitely not the triumph. Bc this boot is Black 100% and has purple stiching and purple eyelets. I need to show you a picture. truekittycat1 @winters_closet So I know the 1914 has evolved over the years. According to my friend, Doc Martens did have a purple boot with purple stitching and eyelets. More than likely they did it with the black boot with the purple, too. Everyone thinks there’s a hard and fast rule with Doc designs, but they are constantly creating. It sounds like your friend’s boot are very vintage. Post a pic for me! 😺😻
