This piece is a "Flow Blue" style of semi-porcelain. The pattern name is "Knox". The manufacturer is the NEW WHARF POTTERY COMPANY of Burslem, England. This particular pattern was only in production from 1890 to 1894. The piece is rare and not readily available. The manufacturer's mark is also done in Flow Blue and appears on the underside edge of the piece. The mark is in blue and consists of the pattern name "Knox" over a crown which is over a rope tied loosely in a knot (resembles a pretzel). Under the knot are the words NEW WHARF POTTERY ENGLAND.
Some gold is still visible on the plate. Because of the age, the edge of the plate has chips on the back (see photos)
