10K Vintage Avon Pin/Brooch with Seed Pearls

Stamped with BALFOUR 10K, this is a pin from my Grandmother's Collection who sold Avon from Door to Door back in the 50's and 60's. This Pin has an A with 5 Seed Pearls down the one side and HIGHEST HONOR written across the bottom. There is a small attachment on the back where a chain was to be attached and a number for the number of years attached to the end representing the years of exemplary service selling Avon to their customers. My Grandmother was not only a single mother in the hardest time in our history, to twins, who's husband left before they were born, but then widowed and as a single woman again, paid her bills walking from door to door selling Avon to her many customers in Nanaimo, BC. This was her pin/brooch and part of the history of the Avon Empire which to this day still has Working Women taking their products to women all over the world. No chips, cracks or repairs, has been passed down to my Mother then myself. In pristine condition as can be seen in pictures, pin is perfectly straight. I have never seen this piece worn by my Mom or Grandmother, I suspect it spent much time in a jewellery box. Weighs over 4 grams, is seen next to a Dime.
