1830s 6 draw telescope, J. Davis

Incredible This telescope has a parallel brass barrel, covered in horn and baleen. The objective lens is an achromatic doublet.  The push-on objective lens cap if not missing would have contained a compass.  It has six brass draws, a four lens eyepiece, and a flared eyecup with a sliding cover. Engraved on draw is J. Davis, Optician, Edinbro. attributed ownership to James Davis, light house keeper Point Lookout Lighthouse keeper MD
