1850s Mennonite Strip Quilt - Museum Piece

This is a piece of extremely rare textile history. Anyone who knows quilts, or textiles, or the history of how these intricate designs were created, knows this is art to be appreciated. How this has survived this long, I’ll never know. I drove 16 hours to pick this up this last week, and took a ferry to obtain it, and once I held it, I knew it was worth it. This quilt is filled with calicos, hand designed prints, and some even hand painted fabrics. It’s like nothing you’ll ever seen out there. This should remain as wall art, to feast one’s eyes upon. I have zero intention of offering down on this quilt at this time, but I feel it could be vastly appreciated and perhaps the right human will find it, and know it’s meant to be theirs.
