This porcelain pottery rolling pin was made for Ogilvie's Royal Household Flour - Canada's Best Flour by Nippon Japan. It has a removable wood handle and a white porcelain roller with Ogilvie's Royal Household seal and the inscription “We Use Royal Household Flour Canada's Best Flour”. Marked Hand Painted Nippon with the Rising Sun mark. Apparently there were only 500 made, and they are circa 1915. The rolling pin is 9.5" long and 2 5/8" across. The wood handle is 19.5" long.
In excellent vintage shape, the wood handle I don't believe is original, but I'm not sure. It does have some wear/tear/usage marks, but is still perfectly functional. The pin itself has the lightest wear to the word "Ogilvie" on the logo. An awesome piece of Canadian flour mill history!
