Rare, rare, rare. These are 1920s flour sack that were used on a railway in the 30s/40s. Stolen by someone who worked for the railway, passed down a whole bunch of times, hand stitched into Teatowels and the edging added later on. It’s hard to get an item like this with the full story, but these have been in a family for many generations and I was fascinated to know the history of them. They are a common item I come across in my industry, as many families repurposed sacks for towels, but I have never found this many, this old. They are stained throughout but have been washed and pressed. These would be ideal for the earthy human who loves items to have purpose. Or amazing for a dress maker or antique lover. These have 100+ years of stories to tell. Incredible. Soft as sin. You won’t find another lot like this listed currently. Some of them are off white, some more ecru.
