1920’s JC Penney Advertising Shoe Button Hook

This old button hook is an advertising promotional item from JC Penney. One side of the handle of the hook has J. C. Penney Co. 312 Stores. In researching the history of JC Penney Co., it appears that in 1917 the company had 175 stores and in 1924, the 500th store was opened. This helps to date this button hook to around 1920 or so. The button hook is in wonderful condition. It is just over 5 inches long. At the end of the handle there is a tiny backward imprint, PAT APP FOR.
