1930s Brass Trench Bullet Lighter, Unique Design, Unbranded, Working.
Interesting & rare bullet-shaped trench lighter, made of solid brass. Certainly a pre-WW2 model, circa 1920s or even WW1 era.
Note the flint striker mechanism which is permanently attached at the top: rather than a 'pull off' model such as seen in Kaschie bullet lighters.
Bottom end-cap unscrews to reveal a unique addition; a brass plate that's used to hold the flint spring in place. We've never seen this before - rather than having a threaded spring, it's held in place with this small plate (see photos #5 and #6).
This traditional trench art/tank lighter takes petrol fuel (gasoline, kerosene, contemporary lighter fluid - all of these will do the trick) and uses a flint for ignition.
Measures approx. 3" long and ¾" across the bottom.
WORKING: Strikes a nice spark. Lighter ships 'dry' so you'll have to add your own lighter fluid.
CONDITION: Some small dings, dents, scuffs, scrapes etc. No cracks or metal fatigue. Note, the flint spring is not original; we used a modern zippo spring to get this lighter to work.
