A vintage rolling pin / quackery massage device with a beautiful art deco look, with a black rubber central rolling part, chromed sides and marbleized green and yellow bakelite handles. The chord plugs in (US outlets) and the device heats up (tested, working). The heat should be roughly that of a very warm heating pad.
It claimed to relieve arthritis, belly fat, lumbago, etc, which, of course, was not true and the device was removed from the market by The Federal Bureau of Investigation. There is no on/off switch. It is marked United Stated Patent no. 1,840,981 - January 12th, 1932 on the roller and Thermo-roller Corp. New York - mod R-115V - 1 AMP where the chord connects to the handle. It measures 20 inches between the handles and is approx. 2-1/4 inch wide on the roller.
It is in nice condition with a few dents to the black rubber, age related spotting to the chrome and a few scuffs to one bakelite handle.
