A larger size original vintage glossy Black and White photograph, from the 1938 movie "George takes the Air: With the R.A.F." or "It´s in the Air: With the R.A.F.", depending on the release location. Featuring George and his love interest, played by Polly Ward.
The movie stars British comedy actor George Formby: ".....By June 1926 he'd started his recording career and from 1934 he was increasingly working in films developing into a major star by the late '30's and becoming the U.K.'s most popular and highest paid entertainer. During WWII he worked extensively for the ENSA (Entertainments National Service Association) entertaining civilians and troops and touring factories, theatres and concert halls. By 1946 it was estimated that he had performed in front of three million service personnel. After the war his career declined although he toured the commonwealth and continued to appear in variety and pantomime."
The movie plot: "A case of mistaken identity leads to accident-prone George Brown (George Formby) entering the Royal Air Force and falling in love with the Sergeant Major's daughter."
Condition: The image is unmarked for the film or actor. With handling creasing and pinholes to the corners and a textured and a small tear and pinhole on the top edge.
