A classic and vintage Hughes Owen slide rule with case from the 1940s. Case is leather and is in good used condition. The case has a leather loop and is stamped 'The Hughes Owen Ltd. Co. 1771'. The slide rule itself is in good vintage condition.
This model was made by Hemmi from Occupied Japan and this one is from probably 1940s. This ruler is in good vintage condition with little signs or wear. Rare find.
Slide rules were the precursor to a hand held calculator was used for multiplication, division, logarithms and trigonometry. All scientists and engineers carried them around. Today they made for lovely office or shelf decor, especially for those owning an old style drafting table. A great Xmas gift idea for someone hard to buy for!
