1940s Strathmore by Newton (Paris-New York) Woman's grey fur felt cloche -used

Rare find of a vintage 1940s (Paris-New York) Woman's grey fur felt cloche with a grey leather band in beautiful shape. Measurements are as follows: band on inside is 21 1/2” . 2” rim with a 1/2” edge with wire in it to hold the round shape. 16” from back to front- a leather embellishment of soft grey is high on the front and dips Dow to the back. Highest part is 3 1/2” and twists at the back into 1”. The hat itself is in fantastic shape, the label is clean so this hat has been worn very little and in excellent shape although you might want to run your fingers around the edge to round it better. . This cloche must have been kept in a box or in the dark as ther is no fading. The leather band is of a soft grey and is still soft and really finishes the cloche off. One always has the choice of wrapping a scarf around the cloche or using hat pins or brooches to add a touch of class although it looks well enough the way it is a keeper for many years.
