1945 Crack Detective 10 Stories Comic

I have to admit that this 1945 10 stories magazine is not in great shape. The edges are frayed and there is a cut near the center that goes through the entire magazine. However... Imagine that when this magazine/book was published in November of 1945, it was being read by people living in a very different world. At the time The end of WW 11 and death of Adolph Hitler The bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima and the fall of the Empire of Japan. The first Nuremberg Trials had just started, McCarthyism was in full swing with the campaign on Anti American Activities. 10 Hollywood stars were blacklisted and 300 more were boycotted by the industry. William Lyon Mackenzie was Canadian Prime Minister. Some of our favourite stars were born: Tom Selleck, Better Midler, Helen Merren, Bob Marley, Steve Martin, Goldie Hawn, John Lithgow, to name a few.
