1950s MCM starburst serving platter, Quite Contrary Jessie Tait Midwinter

...Stylecraft Fashion Shape 1-62 serving plate, marvellous ms maisel A large serving platter in the "Quite Contrary" pattern by Jessie Tait for Midwinter Stylecraft. Dating from the 1950s, this pattern has it´s own version of the atomic starbursts in blue pink grey and black on a white base. This platter would be perfect to serve snacks or a larger dish such as a whole roasted chicken, and would still look great even if simply ´sitting´ there. In good vintage condition with small signs of age and use including some scuffs and utensil marks, the bottom shows the strut marks from firing in the kiln and a couple of little scuffs spots to the glaze.
