Fratelli Toso Murano glass bowl, likely from the mid-20th century, featuring a distinctive "sugarware" or "overshot" texture in a seafoam green color. This type of glasswork, characterized by its rough, sandy exterior, was a signature style of Fratelli Toso and other Murano glassmakers, particularly during the mid-century period. The bowl's shape resembles a stylized shell or leaf, with scalloped edges and radiating lines that enhance its organic form.
• 8" long x 5.5" wide x 3" high
• Original "Murano Glass Made in Italy" sticker on the bottom
• Circa 1950s
• Excellent condition.
Fratelli Toso was a renowned Murano glass factory, and pieces made by them are highly collectible. The "sugarware" technique was also used by other Murano glassmakers, such as Barovier & Toso. The blue and silver foil sticker on the piece was used by Fratelli Toso, possibly exclusively.
