1950s Vendôme Silver Tone Round Clip On Earrings

Very high quality vintage solid flat circular silver tone metal clip on earrings.  • Clip on • Mid-century Modern • 2.5 cm diameter Vendôme was formed in the late 1940s as a subsidiary of Coro, the American costume jewellery manufacturer.  The Vendôme line of jewellery was pitched at the high end of the costume jewellery market and was Coro's most expensive line, being sold only in finer specialty stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdale's.  Vendôme jewellery was designed to emulate French fashions of the time and was marketed to elite ladies of the time. The company was known to use the best materials and the components were hand assembled.  Vendôme closed in 1979.
