...Infantry hardcover, Inscribed by soldiers
A 1954 hardcover binding of a 10th Infantry Division Company B 87th Infantry year book, when the army was under leadership of President Eisenhower. Showing portrait photos of new personnel in 4 platoons at the time, and with images of their time at training, including rifle training, packing, getting vaccinated, Carbine Firing, camping, field chow etc.
I received this album with an envelope of paperwork: This yearbook belonged to one Mr. Gary Griffith (on page 27, Second Platoon) who joined the active service on Feb 3rd, 1954 in Bricelyn (Faribault) Minneapolis and served as Antiaircraft Artillery Guncrewman. Gary was stationed in Germany in 1955 and was awarded The National Defense Service Medal and Army of Occupation Medal (Germany). He was honourably discharged from the US Army in January 1956 and transferred to the Army reserves, where he served until Feb 1961 by reason of permanent Physical disqualification.
Condition: in good vintage condition with some splitting to the binding (page 24-25) and a few stains throughout the book. Inscribed by various soldiers, wishing Gary good luck.
