This vintage Barbour Thornproof Repair Kit from the 1960s is a stylish relic of the iconic Barbour brand, founded in 1894 in South Shields, England. Evolving from oilcloth garments for mariners, Barbour catered to sailors, farmers, and motorcyclists, with thornproof fabric and wax dressing (made of mineral oils and refined hydrocarbon waxes) to coat the cotton fabric for waterproofing and durability.
