A Big Ben "Magic Touch - Repeater" Alarm clock by Westclox, made in Canada between 1964 and 1980. The body in a black toned metal with an even black toned face plate. The silver toned surround to the front, the ´glass´ and foot are plastic. It winds up well and keeps time pretty well too. There is a button on the back to adjust the speed, set the alarm / alarm loudness, the time, and to wind it up. There is NO snooze button - it is on or off. The internal alarm bell is more of a rattling sound than a clear ringing bell, and can be set to Loud or Soft. The "repeater" part of the repeater alarm should ring, then stop and then ring again in intervals about 5 times before stopping. This one does NOT do that - the alarm simply rings until it runs dry and you´d have to wind it up again. I don´t think the alarm can be switched on or off - if you don´t want the alarm, don´t wind it. The hands are luminous and the glow is good.
Marked on the back General Time Corporation. Rd. 1964, Canada. The number on the base is 58055 which corresponds to Westclox Big Ben style 8
Be aware that a mechanical clock always makes a ticking sound
Condition: Winding up and running smoothly and the alarm works. The front with a couple of scratches to the plastic ´glass´ and there looks to be a single pet hair / piece of sweater fluff floating inside the front. The silver toned plastic surround to the front with some wear but intact.
Size: 4 3/4 inches high (12 cm)
