This vintage carved soapstone candle holder for tealights or votives was hand-crafted by the Inuit artist Elijah Siku, whose name means "sea ice" in the Inuit language Iñupiaq. The relief carving on the front depicts an orca jumping out of the water. The artisan's signature can be found on the front under the killer whale carving.
The carved piece has two stickers on the bottom: One indicating that the material from which the artwork is carved is genuine soapstone, and the other noting the artist and that the carving was produced in Canada.
