1970’s WOVEN RATTAN BACKPACK/STORAGE BASKET/ CONVERSATION PIECE With PERSONALITY

This vintage traditional backpack/basket was handwoven by indigenous people known for their rice-terrace culture in the northern Philippines. It is in very good condition with no visible wear despite being over 45 years old. It is very roomy inside, and both useful and decorative for storage/display. Also the rattan straps enable its use as an actual backpack. The woven rattan provides an attractive textured surface. It stands freely on a strong base with bamboo-reinforced framework, and has a removable lid closure.
