UNITED STATES OF AMERICA E PLURIBUS UNUM ONE DOLLAR, Eagle with open wings flying left, landing with olive branch in its talons on the moon; 13 five-pointed stars around and planet earth in left upper field which features the North and South American continent.
This coin commemorates President Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States and a celebrated World War II General and also the first man landing on the moon. Designed by Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro. His initials (FG) are on the truncation of Eisenhower's head and below the eagle.
