Gorgeous full set of tarot cards from 1974 in wonderful condition! Tarot Classic Deck with all cards, instruction manual and box. Booklet copyright print date is 1971 and box copyright date is 1974. Instruction manual has meanings of cards, history of tarot and deck spreads. Beautiful argyle plaid deck back featuring red and grey pattern. Box is blue and has some corner fraying but no rips. Cards are in exceptional shape with no bending, corner fraying or sticking. Although they are 50 years old they have been barely used with the only minor wear on the box edges. The Tarot Classic deck follows the Tarot of Marseilles style. It is based on a woodblock tarot deck created by cardmaker Claude Burdel in 1751, probably in the city of Freibourg, Switzerland. This original deck was stencil colored by hand. A banner on the two of Coins reads "FABRIQUE DE CARTES A SCHAFFHOUSE" meaning "Card factory in Schaffhouse."
