1990’s sea urchin shell trinket/jewelry authentic Holland Mold ©️porcelain

An ideal gift for anyone who loves the sea. Signed as a Holland ©️ mold. Purchased from a pottery studio in the early 1980’s, so vintage. It has no defaults in the making. However, over the years the edges at the bottom were rubbed(see relevant pictures with arrows) . Defect does not affect the beauty of the urchin as a decorative object to hide your trinkets and jewelry. Mainly periwinkle colour. Hues will vary with light but mostly true to the object. I could not find on the web any items for sale that was made with the same mold. The colours are vibrant and modern so you are getting a rare & beautiful art. For the curious and the rest of us: Hollendonner, was an Austrian immigrant who had learned the trade of mold making in his country. After he settled in Trenton, New Jersey, the home to numerous potteries, he was solicited by pottery professionals & hobbyists to create molds so he founded his own mold company in 1946. It stayed a flourishing family-owned business until it was closed in 1997 . Apparently, it could not compete with new mold technology and the internationalization of markets.
