2 Ovral Birth Control Advertising Mugs Cups Pharmaceutical Advertising The Pill

Pair of rare mugs, advertising for Ovral birth control pills. These would have been given as a promo to doctors and pharmacists to promote its release in the US in 1968. The mug with the female symbol is slightly larger than the male, at 4" (10cm) tall x 3" (7.6cm) in diameter, vs 3.8” (9.75cm) tall and 2.75” (7cm) in diameter. Bottoms are marked "*RTM Japan” No chips, cracks, or crazing. Some minor scuffs and scratches from years of use, and one bit of extra black paint on the female mug. The male mug has a flaw in the glaze near the rim on the white panel opposite the handle (see sixth photo). Designs and mugsare still nice and shiny - no dishwasher damage. Please see photos.
