Beautiful vintage set of two Shakespeare's Sonnets Anne Hathaways Cottage dishes manufactured by Kensington in England circa 1960’s. Consisting of a large serving platter and serving bowl; the edges feature a lovely scalloped and embossed ribbed design in white, with a gorgeous lattice transferware border. Both pieces are marked “Shakespeare's Sonnets - Anne Hathaways Cottage - A Genuine Hand Engraving Decorated Underglaze Ironstone - Made in England - Kensington - R2815”; the underside of the bowl is marked ‘“How Like A Winter Hath My Absence Been From Thee, The Pleasure Of The Fleeting Year” - Winter XCVII’, and the platter is marked ‘“Sap Checked With Frost and Rusty Leaves Quite Gone Beauty O’Ersnowed and Bareness Everywhere” - Christmas V’. Wonderful serving set for holidays!
