In total there were Six Generations, spread across three basic platforms. The Original Rear Wheel Drive Mk.1 / Mk.2 from 1968 to 1980. The Erika front wheel drive Mk.3 / Mk.4 from 1980 to1992 and the final CE-14 Mk.5 / Mk.6 from 1990 to 2002. The 2.0 L RS2000 version, with its distinctively slanted polyurethane nose, and featuring the Pinto Engine from the Cortina, was debuted in the UK in March 1975 and introduced in Germany in August 1975. It was produced in both countries. It provided 110 bhp and a top speed of 110 mph. Acceleration to 100 km/h was in 8.9 seconds.
