(2/$20) Bebe Hammered Bib Statement Necklace

This necklace by bebe is made of a gold tone metal and has an adjustable lobster clasp closure with a stamped maker's tag at the end. The front of the necklace features a sort of bib, made of link rectangular pieces with alternating textures. The necklace appears to be silver toned in the pictures, but that's just the angle and lighting. The one thing I don't understand about this necklace is the presence of the numbers on the backs of the rectangles. Maybe a puzzle waiting to be solved? The necklace has normal wear, including some tone darkening in the metal and superficial marks in the surface of the rectangles, but no issues affecting wearability.
