NWOT - This Gold vermeil Ear Cuff is made of 925 Sterling silver, in a pretty wave three wire design. Vermeil is much thicker than plating and will hold it's gold tone - as there is a thick layer of real gold on top of 925 sterling Silver It is approximately 3 mm across the crest of the three wires and the wave area. transferal It is made of 925 Silver With heavy Gold plating -Called Gold Vermeil Let us say 10k Gold plating, It is not marked, It is from the late 80's. Gold Vermeil is a common type of gold plating, which uses sterling silver as the base metal. Vermeil is more hypoallergenic and has a thicker layer of gold than normal gold plating, which is why you'll see it in stores selling fine jewelry.
