30s 40s Yardley of London Mirror Finish Gold Lilies Loose Powder Compact & Pouch

This exquisite Yardley of London loose powder compact from the 1930s-1940s is a true collector's gem. Made in the United Kingdom, this vintage vanity piece exudes elegance and charm. The compact's mirror finish is nearly flawless, with very little normal vintage wear. The compact opens smoothly and shuts firmly, as does the thumb latch that opens the powder well lid. The mirror inside has an age spot in the centre (pic #4). The puff has some discoloration on its face but appears to never have been used. The powder is very pale pink and has a faint, pleasant fragrance. The powder well lid has a circle of material riveted to its underside that forms a seal when the lid is closed. That means that this compact was not manufactured with a sifter and was only made for loose face powder. This vintage compact measures 2" x 2", and comes with the protective off-white fabric pouch it was sold with.
