Loosely modelled on Monopoly, with squares marked “The Danforth”, “The Annex”, “Little Italy,” etc. Object is to establish the most “businesses and attractions for residents and tourists of Toronto.” Great example of Mulroney-era Toronto kitsch. Cover features an earnest pastiche of urban scenes, as the city’s most ardent civic boosters might imagine them: people shopping, Casa Loma, Phantom of the Opera, the Maple Leafs (hilariously, the cover contains an image of a Stanley Cup — albeit in a context that suggests a museum attraction). Promotional blurb on box says: “Capture the thrills of Toronto … Toronto’s excitement and mystique comes alive in this fast-paced, fun for the whole family boardgame.
