dstrausser @mimisurfs It is a simulated Sapphire. They are synthetic and lab created stones. Real sapphires are lab created; therefore it's difficult to determine with the naked eye whether the Sapphire is synthetic or the real deal. This is a synthetic stone, it is not glass. It looks and feels like the real deal. And you are correct the stone is about 5.5 carat tw.

dstrausser @kdbdesign awe... U could always get it sized. Pawn shops don't charge much to size jewelry, and it's much cheaper than a jeweler. And in my experience with using them, they've always done a very good job.
