bendongua
bendongua @lizhar hey! IG is just instagram, a photo sharing app much like Flickr!
Jan 22Reply
lizhar
lizhar @bendongua thank u for explaining that. But, I'm still a little confused. Is there a girl here on PM taking JUST the pics from IG & other places like that & putting them in her closet here (PM)? Then she sells them to us but can't send it bcuz she doesn't really have the items? Am I way off base here or only partially right? Sorry to ask so many ???'s but I just want to understand so that I don't get ripped off by her. I really do appreciate u taking time to explain things!! I feel so dumb right now!!!

mrswilliams Thanks for the heads up.. I am a new seller.. I never would have thought about being scammed on Posh.. Wow.. Very evil people in the world!!!!!!!!!
Jan 22Reply
reinette28
reinette28 @bendongua I don't really know what her motives were, she posted photos of this merchandise that she supposedly had to sell, when In reality they were not even her items. Poshmark fortunately refunded the full 1,500 back to me. Thank god.

lorigalloway
lorigalloway Oh no! Sorry for your bad experience! They will take care of it! Just be sure if you are purchasing anything that is over a couple hundred (or even that you might be worried is fake) and ask the seller to add additional listings on PM with pictures that you specify. If they can't provide what you are asking, don't buy! I learned the hard way by purchasing "real" Manolo Blahniks. Yeah, they were "real" fake. : / If you get the seller to add additional photos on PM there are a lot of people who are willing to help authenticate an item or help identify any red flags. As long as you purchase through PM, they will take care of it. It is like insurance. ;) @beautybybella @lizhar @mrswilliams @danhan

chycgal
chycgal Ladies when it come to Purses, be sure to authenticate with purseforum! A lot of Fakes have authenticity cards, Chanels have fake hologram stickers, and it could look real to anyone who is not an expert! I would also ask for pics of the person with the item to make sure!! I see lot of people here selling fakes here listed as authentic!!! Beware!

mdeleon11
mdeleon11 @msfancynancee I have to disagree. I have a closet full of authentic bags that still have tags. I love them all but realistically no one needs that many bags and can really get to them. It is unfair to make such a statement, shoppers might consider your words when coming across an authentic closet like mine. Please don't take offense to this comment. You just had some really strong opinions that can lose a sale for honest Poshers. Thank you :)

mdeleon11
mdeleon11 @msfancynancee I understand but SA's in LV can't encourage purchases outside of the company. They won't authenticate either because we should be buying from them directly without any concerns. Some of those sales associates can't tell the difference anyway haha

mdeleon11
mdeleon11 @msfancynancee I am pretty good spotting fakes but with all of the photo filters available in different phone apps, online shopping is scarier than ever! Like this post, people used to steal pics on eBay but now they can get personal pics and present as their own!!! Yikes😁

sopiepie
sopiepie @mdeleon11 I have to agree with u on ur previous comments! I'm selling a lot of designer handbags wallets and shoes here on PM. Several items are brand new and I only even touched them once or twice when I bought them or take pics for posting here. In fact I have the tendency to buy a lot of similar category goods at the same time...I bought my two chanel wallets from Chanel SoHo store one day and the very next day I bought a YSL chyc cabas and a Céline phantom... I honestly dont need that many handbags or two wallets at the same time.. i mean i only have two hands lol. Thats why one of it gotta be put away. Ppl do whatever they want with their money and if any ppl don't believe they could get authentic brand new items from their seller then they should not buy. I'm so tired of ppl asking me 'how can u prove its authenticity?' Well usually they all have their serial code and certification card, but u could also argue the fake ones could also have that! In that case I think the user should reconsider buying any luxury good.. Cuz I remember last year, hermes was even got sued for their sales selling replica to their customers! Sorry just some thoughts about this issue...

mdeleon11
mdeleon11 @sopiepie I've also heard that people return fakes to Saks and NM. Even purchasing from a reputable company is risky, at the end of the day no one can really authenticate. Purchasing directly is always the best bet! Those that are not willing to pay retail and tax should not hound a seller that communicates offers photos and provides all necessary info. I once bought a pair of Loubies on eBay. The pics were of authentic shoes but what arrived made me sick! Never again!!! Got my money back but it was very upsetting. I don't really stress over my bags that I sell. I sell them because I don't use them not because I need the cash. I have no problems keeping them nicely displayed in my closet to avoid some headaches 😋😋😋

sopiepie
sopiepie @mdeleon11 ppl actually return fakes to sellers?! wow...I really don't know what to say now. Anyway I know my collection might not get sold here but I don't really mind :)
Feb 09Reply
mdeleon11
mdeleon11 @sopiepie it does happen which proves a point that even those that sell them retail get taken too. I too don't mind keeping my things but I am considering a purchase in your closet! Celine 😍😍😍

sopiepie @mdeleon11 yeah she's a beauty. The leather is just incredible. I bought it last thanksgiving on upper east side cuz it's the 'IT' these years and I want one as well. But I'm just petite and the bag overpowered me when I carry it. So I never use it but it just made me happy somehow lol I'm weird

xpeanutshopsx
xpeanutshopsx My favorite mishap was when a posher went on my eBay and took one of my photos (with me in it) and then posted it to posh to brag about her "never ending collection"! So I commented "uh that's my bag, my picture, me in the background, and my collection!" And she didn't even apologize! Just deleted the post and shared one of my items.

ptodaro
ptodaro It is so scary out there . You would think that women who love to shop would take care of their own. Unfortunately, some people have no morals anymore. As for me, I love LV's, my bags are real and I can sleep at night knowing that I have not cheated anyone. If you have an incident, please spread the word so we can all be aware of scammers out there . Happy Poshing!!!

fotogirl30
fotogirl30 Terry_nitka is a fake seller too. She even admitted she post photos from someone else that they send her and then gets the item from god knows where. I bought a bracelet from her. Great photos got the item and it was total crap. She is making good on it and replacing it with another item. But I'm not real happy. I've been burned by others with the pp thing and got crap. I've learned a hard expensive lesson. Now I'm very leery of people. Always ask them to take another photo, just because. And always make sure it's clear. iPhones take very clear photos if you do it right so it's no excuse.
