How do we receive the money for items we have sold?
Jan 27Reply

ashley1985
@sydneyaltizer Hi Sydney! When you sale an item, the money is given to Poshmark. Once the buyer receives the item, they must "Accept" it under their "Purchases" tab. Poshmark then releases the money to you :-)
Jan 27Reply

ashley1985
@sydneyaltizer After the buyer releases the funds to you, you have an option for direct deposit, a mailed check, OR you can use your redeemable credits to purchase items on poshmark!
Jan 27Reply

sydneyaltizer
Okay thank you so much! :)

It says you print out a label to ship things, where does that come up at or how does that work?
Jan 27Reply

ashley1985
@dora_olivarez Hey there! When an item sales, your automatically emailed a prepaid shipping label with the email address you have on file with Poshmark. You need a printer to print the label out. You then tape it to a box (free boxes at post office), and ship your item!
Jan 27Reply

dora_olivarez
@ashley1985 awesome makes sense now lol btw: when do u think u will get my order mailed out?
Jan 27Reply

ashley1985
@dora_olivarez Hopefully tomorrow! I always try to ship same day or next day! :-)

How do i Receive the money or the thing i buy?!
Jan 28Reply

jeri_faye
How does this work when you find something you want to buy? Can you pay here w a credit card?
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@sukkar I actually answered part of that above- another girl asked the same thing- look at above comments. And once you Buy something, the seller gets an email with the shipping label and sends it out to you. You pay for shipping when you buy an item, which is what the prepaid label is for :-$
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@jeri_faye Yes, ma'am! When you click the blue Buy Now button, you are then taken to a screen that asks for your card information. It's a very secure site. If you happen to sell an item, you can use your credit from that sale to buy things as well :-)
Jan 28Reply

jeri_faye
Thank you so much, if your offer still stands for the bundle I would love to get it. It will have to wait until the morning but I assure you ill get it, I left my wallet in the car.
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@jeri_faye Your most welcome and yes- I can hold your bundle til morning... I get about 50-60 notifications an hour and your likes have gotten lost in my newsfeed... Can you go to the items you want and re-like them? Unlike then re-like them again do I get a fresh notification? Thanks, girl! ๐
Jan 28Reply

winethief
Ok I'm brand new here and ready to get started. How do I bundle ? Do I like the ones I want to bundle and then ask the seller to bundle them? How do I sell my own items?
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@winethief Exactly! You like all the items you like them ask the seller to bundle them- Most everyone discounts bundles. As far as selling your items, you simply take a picture, give it a title, then describe it and name your price. If someone likes multiple items of yours, you can bundle them by putting all the pictures of the wanted items in one listing and putting price for all :-)
Jan 28Reply

winethief
Yay! Ok Ty I'm can't wait to buy and sell I'm totally loving this site already :)
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@winethief You'll be addicted in no time! ๐๐๐
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@stephanieandrea Sorry for just now getting back. The fastest way to obtain follows is by following them first. They will likely follow you back. You may want to post some items first or they may not follow you. Click on any user's name and you have the option of following them. Also, you can look at the top of any users page and click on their Followers. That will give you a list of people following that person and you can follow them as well. Hope that doesn't sound too confusing. It's actually pretty simple :-)
Jan 28Reply

cynthiavan
Ashley, do you have any wide belts in a med. to large by chance?

Jan 28Reply

shadrickap
Will and and I just like some of your listings, are you able to bundle them?
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@shadrickap Yes ma'am! All four for $22 if interested :-)
Jan 28Reply

shadrickap
Yes I am now am I including shipping and handling or how does that work?
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@shadrickap Shipping is $7 for all orders. Poshmark does have a special going on now til Jan 31rst which is all orders over $25 are $5.50 shipping. So... Your order would be a total of $29. Let me know if your still interested. If so, I'll make you a bundle โบ
Jan 28Reply

shadrickap
And I'm assuming each item is in perfect condition, not trying to offend you or anything you know.
Jan 28Reply

lorraineann
How does bundling work?
Jan 28Reply

ashley1985
@lorraineann Whether buying or selling, it's basically combining two or more listings together to make one "Bundle" so there is only One shipping fee vs Several shipping fees. When buying, ask the seller to bundle your likes. If selling, offer bundles to the people that show interest in more than one item. You will then compile all the items into one listing by taking pics of the items all together or using a collage app to combine them and post it with the bundled price :-) Hope this helps
Jan 28Reply

What if the person that buys your item doesn't hit accept? Then do we lose our item and not get paid for them?
Jan 29Reply

emilybaigent
Thank you so much for sharing me๐๐
Jan 29Reply

ashley1985
@amarker123 Good question! I'm sure a lot of people are wondering about that. The buyer has up to 72 hours after receiving the item to accept it. If they don't after the 72 hour time period, Poshmark automatically releases your funds to you. If the buyer has an issue with the item (Example: rips and stains that weren't mentioned in description), they have the 72 hour period to contact poshmark about the issue and at that point, a refund will be issued to the buyer, and they must send the item back to you.

Hey Ashley, so I have a quick question, how does posh know who to send the money to? How do they contact me?- thanks!:)
Jan 29Reply

@rastalara I don't but there are lots of girls on posh who do! Use your Search bar to search for those items! ๐๐๐
Jan 29Reply

rastalara
Okay sound good I just need couple hundred bucks even 500 would do
Jan 29Reply

ashley1985
@shopaholic8864 If you sell an item, and the buyer accepts it upon receiving, poshmark will release your funds to you. You can see your funds under you "My Balance" tab. You then have some options. You can have a check sent to you in the mail, you can do direct deposit, or you can keep the funds in your poshmark account to put towards poshmark purchases. If you request a check or direct deposit, it will then lead you to a screen asking for your mailing address or bank account information :-)

@depanther2004 You can add items from your closet to any Party by using the Share button next to your items. When the party is on, it will give you an option to share to that party. ๐
Jan 29Reply

emiina
@asheley1985 thank you for the great tips. i have one questions. what if the person accept the item but doesn't pay? and how will i know if they wanna but item. do i receive e-mail or what. thank youuuu !
Jan 30Reply

ashley1985
@emiina Hey there! If someone buys your item, poshmark takes care of the transaction and takes their payment. When payment goes through, you will get an email saying your item has sold. That email will include a prepaid shipping label that you must print off and put on the box to send to the buyer. When they receive the item and accept it, poshmark then releases your money to you :) If someone wants to buy an item, they can click the big blue button that says Buy Now. If they want to inquire about the item before purchasing, they can leave you a comment and you can respond back to them. Hope this helps- if I didn't understand the question, please let me know :-)
Jan 30Reply

ashley1985
@jennylynn40 Hey there! I'm glad to share your listings but I do see one thing you haven't done.... You need to renew or "re-share" your listings periodically throughout the day do that they continue to show up in your followers news feeds. You go to "edit" the share or under your pictures, click the "Share" button. The only time your listings show up in the feed is when you re-share them :-) Also- Follow Follow Follow as many people as you can! This gives you more exposure! ๐
Jan 30Reply

ashley1985
@jennylynn40 Yes- I know it sucks but yes- each listing separately... I wish they had a "Share All" button ๐

Hi again @ashley1985 so another quick question, lets say I want to buy something with no PayPal account, how do I know who to send the money to?
Jan 30Reply

ashley1985
@rosemarywynne Hey there! Read this and the comments! You'll get educated! If you have any further questions, please ask! ๐
Jan 30Reply

ashley1985
@shopaholic8864 Hey again! You do not use Paypal with Poshmark. In fact, it's prohibited. If you want to buy something, you click the Buy Now button and it'll ask for your card info. If you want to purchase more than one of a persons items, comment first asking the seller to combine your likes into a bundle so you only pay one shipping charge :-)
Jan 30Reply

shopaholic8864
@ashley1985 thanks so much! So when it asks for the card will it give me information as to where I'm sending the item?
Jan 30Reply

shopaholic8864
(Not the card just cash information) sorry!
Jan 30Reply

ashley1985
@shopaholic8864 Are you asking about buying an item or selling an item?
Jan 30Reply

shopaholic8864
@ashley1985 when someone purchases something from me, how do I get the information as to where the item goes? Also how do people know where to ship items that I buy?
Jan 30Reply

ashley1985
@shopaholic8864 Ohhh ok. When you purchase something, after entering your card info, it will ask for your shipping address. When you pay, the seller gets an email with the prepaid shipping label that has your name and address printed on it per the info you entered. Same thing goes when you sell an item, you will get a prepaid shipping label emailed to you that you will need to print off and tape to the box to send the item to your buyer. Their name and address will be on that label
Jan 30Reply

shopaholic8864
@ashley1985 fabulous! One last question (I'm sorry if I'm a bother!) if I want to pay with a check, am I able to do that?

Jan 31Reply

sarahbucktieds
Thanks so much for posting this! I was so confused about this and need to make money for my senior spring break trip! Selling clothes will be a great way! Would you mind getting me in touch with some good people to follow? Thanks!
Jan 31Reply

ashley1985
@mguthrie Hey Misty! Good questions! Photo presentation is key sometimes because it's the first thing people see. If intrigued, the person will click on it to see more info and comment if they want. Photo taken best in good lighting. Outside works great to capture color if possible. Also, modeling the item in front of a mirror asking someone to take a picture of you in it a rurally helps ppl to see what it might look like on them. Also- if there are any rips, stains, or tears- be sure to take a photo and write in the description any flaws. If your posting jeans or pants, it's helpful to add the inseam (crotch to bottom hem measurements), because depending on a persons height, they may not work well and most people ask if you can measure so it saves you a step and the buyer from having to ask. Also- if a item fits differently than the tag states (Example: Tag says Large, but fits like a small) you can describe that in the description. As far as what's selling, My motto is- "If it's cute- it'll sell!" Lol! Seriously- shoes, handbags, sweaters, dresses, jeans- You name it! People also live anything name brand but it's not necessary. Have fun and if you have anymore questions- Let me know :-)
Jan 31Reply

ashley1985
@dora_olivarez So glad!!!! ๐๐๐
Jan 31Reply

ashley1985
@moisesv Unfortunately, Poshmark does not support the buying or selling of Childrens items... Some people do sell them on here, but posh will remove their listings if they become aware
Jan 31Reply

ashley1985
@sarahbucktieds Hey there! There are zillions of women using the app and most are really great ones to follow! Depending on your size and what your looking for will determine the best people to follow. You can go to my closet and click on Following and Followers at the top of my page and get a list of all the people I'm following and those who are following me. You can click each of their names to view their closet. If you like what you see, follow them and their listings will appear on your newsfeed :-)

@mnbradford87 While the party is going on, go down to "Share" under your pics and it will ask you if you want to share to the party! It gives you exposure to every woman currently viewing the party- not Just your followers! So make sure to share to parties! :-)

@ashley1985 love your closet! I had a question regarding shipping.. It looks like you use the priority free boxes and envelopes to ship. Do you not have to send them priority? I know once a sale happens posh sends you a shipping label so can I just print and post that on any envelope/box that fits? Do you drop off at the post office of use the post offices pick up service? Thanks for all your help!! :)
Feb 01Reply

ashley1985
@lilmisshelen Hey Helen! Yes-you can use any box or envelope and put the shipping label on :-) These are actually free ones you can pick up at post office if you need some. And ask far as pick up, my mailman has become my best friend! I leave all my packages for him to pick up each day! :-)
Feb 01Reply

ttlouise
I'm new to this, great info in this thread thank you! So.. Post pic, price, PM gets 20%?!! Does That 20% cover the shipping? Read something about getting an email w shipping label. If the shipping cost is included, that's not do bad... If not I think 20% is to much! How can you make good profit on an item ?
Feb 01Reply

ashley1985
@ttlouise Hey there! Yes, poshmark takes 20% of the item you sell. Example: price marked $20- your profit will be $16. Buyer pays for shipping when purchasing the item. $7 shipping unless over $25 (then its $5.50 shipping for limited time). Hope this helps!

Feb 07Reply

ashley1985
@jodibrady Hey, Jodi. Here is a tip page I made. I know there is a lot here, but read through the comments- there is some good info with many new users questions answered :-)
Feb 09Reply

ashley1985
@mimi0925529 Hey, Lisa. Trading is not supported by Poshmark meaning if the item is not as described, or if you never receive the item in exchange for yours, Poshmark can do nothing to reimburse you for your loss. How it works- Both people pick something they'd like to trade. Both set price to $0, then your both only out the $7 shipping fee. As I mentioned before, a lot of people on here have done trades trusting the opposite party to send their item in exchange and never receive it. If you do decide to trade, check that sellers reviews to see if they've had positive feedback :-)
Feb 09Reply

mimi0925529
@ashley1985 Thanks so much for the info. It was very helpful. Where do you check the reviews on someone?
Feb 09Reply

ashley1985
@mimi0925529 Poshmark currently doesn't have a Review page for sellers so what I recommend is going through their listings looking for Sold items. You can see all comments. Sometimes you may see comments like "Thanks for the trade! Love my item!" or "Your a scammer! You stole my items and never sent mine in return".... Just look through some of their sold stuff and you should get an idea. Also, a lot of users, including me, make a post dedicated strictly to feedback. More and more ladies are doing this so other users can see they are trustworthy. :-)
Feb 09Reply

mimi0925529
@ashley1985 You're a sweetheart! Thanks for all the tips, they will sure help me get a good start. One more silly question: how do I get those little smiley faces and other things that are with your comments?
Feb 09Reply

ashley1985
@mimi0925529 Not a silly question ๐ Tap "Settings" on your Home screen and then "General." Scroll down to tap "Keyboard." Select "International Keyboards," "Add New Keyboard" and finally, "Emoji." This activates a new Emoji keyboard on your iPhone. To access it, tap the "Globe" icon located on your regular keyboard's lower left, between the "123" key and "Space" bar. Tap the "Globe" icon again to return to your regular keyboard. Let me know if this works for you :)

Why can't u post men or children items? Who says that? I see lots of different items on here of all kinds. I have seen computers, sex toys, cell phones.... All kinds of things
Feb 09Reply

ashley1985
@conniegraham Lol- I hear ya. Poshmark focuses strictly on Women's fashion and accessories. If you post children or men's, or electronics, non authentic items, etc-Poshmark will remove those listings should they become privy to it. Just their rules. Also, if you purchase a cell phone on here for example and it doesn't work, Posh will NOT refund you because it is against their guidelines in the first place. So- your put of luck. Just make sure you only post/buy women's items/accessories :-)
Feb 09Reply

@ashley1985 Good Morning! I have a quick question for you. Why is it that sometimes when someone shares a listing and I go to thank them I can't get their name to come up when I type the @ with their name? This has happened to me several times and not sure what to do.
Feb 09Reply

ashley1985
@papotter Read these tips and through the comments if you can. I think it'll help you :-)
Feb 09Reply

ashley1985
@mimi0925529 Hey there again! It took me awhile to figure that out myself but I have the answer! When you go to tag someone putting the @ and their username, their name won't automatically show up unless they either "liked" or commented on that item. So- you have to actually type their whole username in when thanking them for sharing. Luckily they have an easy one to spell out in that case :-)

ashley1985
@jyizzle Unfortunately, since poshmark does not support trades and advises against it, they cannot/ will not help you get reimbursed. So- be very selective when trading. Check feedback from their "Sold" listings and try to gain some trust before doing a trade. A lot of people have lost a lot of money sending items and not getting anything back in return.
Feb 09Reply

I just started my closet today.. How do I get people to see my items?? I'm new to this. I actually bought 2 pairs of Miss Me Jeans last night from 2 different ladies.. Any help would be appreciated ;) thanks in advance
Feb 09Reply

ashley1985
@cole013 Hey there! Congrats on starting! I see you only have 2 followers. That means only 2 people are able to see your listing in their feed. You need more followers first of all. To achieve that, follow more people! Those people will likely follow you back and will be able to view your listings :-) Also, "Share" people's listings. Under a persons listing, you'll see a "Share" button. Push it and it shared that persons listings with your followers so they get more exposure on that item. People generally return the sharing favor which means they will share your listings with their followers :-) Also- share your listings often! For example, if you post an item 2 days ago and don't reshare it, it won't reappear in your followers feed. You must hit the "Share" button under your own picture to get it to show up in the feed again. Hope this makes since. I will share your listings with my followers. :-)

Feb 24Reply

holtzheuser
how dies one trade ?
Feb 24Reply

ashley1985
@holtzheuser Trading includes both people willing to trade each others items for same value. Both people set price to $0 then your both only out the $7 shipping fee. Trading can be fun but be cautious when doing so! Poshmark does not support trades so if something goes bad, (you get an item but not as described OR the person doesn't send your item) Poshmark will not reimburse you or help you in any way since trades are not recommended by them. I, personally, have never had any problems with trading but a lot of ladies have dealt with other women who never send the item or receive an item that is broken/dirty/etc. Check feedback on the particular person your wanting to trade with first. :-)

@ashley1985 Hi. I was wondering how you rearrange the pictures in your closet. Most people have all the sold things at the bottom & I see closets that group tops, pants, purses etc...I would like to rearrange my pictures๐ thx so much !!
Oct 23Reply

ashley1985
@jdfsmile Hey there! Every time you "update" or "Share" your listing, it renews it to the top of your page. So if you renew all your listings, the sold ones with eventually fall to the bottom (I hope that makes sense ๐) To share your listings, you can push the Share button under your listings picture or press Edit and update it them way :-)
Oct 23Reply

ashley1985
@jdfsmile You can update your listings in the order you want them to show on your page: Share all pant listings one after another, shirts, etc :-) Hope this helps!

I tried to read to see if someone else ask this question but was too long. I can't find an answer. Looks like Poshmark charges seller any weight over 2 lbs. Surely not. I don't want to sell a leather jacket very low price to someone who may need it, only to have to pay overage shipping if more than $4.99. Am I missing something. In FAQ it looks like overage is subtracted from our profit. Thanks, Sherry
Oct 26Reply

ashley1985
@grammiesstore Hey, Sherry! Glad you asked this question. Yes- anything over 2 lbs is the sellers responsibility... I suggest getting a postal scale- they are expensive. My husband bought me one but I hear you can purchase a food scale relatively cheap. When you post an item, you could add in description that the item outweighs the 2lb limit and that you will be adding on "X amount" of dollars to the listing price to cover that expense. When an item sells, you have the option to go under that item in your "Sales" tab and print off a new label to cover the weight. It gives you the option to purchase a label for 3-10 lbs minus the 2 lbs the buyer has already paid for.. In other words, a 3 lb label would cost "$1.99" for example and so on. If you are bundling several items for a buyer, you need to consider the weight limit as well and add on to the bundle price to cover your expense... I hope this helps :-)
Oct 26Reply

grammiesstore
Thanks for taking the time to answer, I couldn't understand how "bundling
Oct 26Reply

grammiesstore
.....couldn't understand all the "bundling" to save buyers shipping, if in fact the seller has to cover the overage especially on low priced negotiated items. Not a problem with a couple tops, but a very big problem with a couple pairs of shoes. I tried to copy your reply so I don't forget but it wouldn't copy. Thanks a million.
Oct 26Reply

ashley1985
@grammiesstore Yes! I agree.. I had a pair if shoes alone over 2 lbs ! ๐ณ I know- you can't copy and paste but you can take a screenshot on your phone or ipad... Your very welcome! If I can ever help with anything else, let me know! I've been here over a year and a half so I should know most answers! :-)
Oct 26Reply

grammiesstore
I "liked" your closet so I can find you again. FAQ confused me. In one place it says, "....and no shipping fees as a seller. Simple, upfront and easy."
It also says shipping anywhere in the United States is paid for by the buyer at the time of the purchase.
Then later it says, any extra costs will be automatically deducted from your earnings/credits."
I've been here less than a month, but I am certain that there are many who are not aware of that. Neither USPS, nor Poshmark is going to give us free shipping over the 2 lbs that we had to pay for.
No......seriously, I was told that you don't have to pay more than $6.99 for shipping and the more you spend and send together, the cheaper it is. So fortunate for the seller who may end up making very little if anything.
Again, I've been over 3 wks trying to get an answer before having to deal with it. I hope you get payment or credit of some kind for your invaluable assistance.
Much thanks, Sherry
Oct 26Reply

ashley1985
@grammiesstore Sherry, you are too kind! You are right- the information on shipping is contradicting! They really should update this. As I said, I've been buying/selling here for over a year and a half and I've seen a lot of changes... It actually used to be $7.99 shipping then went to $6.99. Orders of $25 or more get $4.99 shipping then came into play. But- it used to be a 3 lb limit- not 2. A lot of people got very upset when they did this. I guess "Bundle more-Save more" does technically mean you don't have to pay for shipping on each individual item - but it does raise our expense as sellers to compensate for that extra shipping should it go over 2 lbs. I usually just tell a buyer who wants to bundle that I'm adding an extra $2, $4, etc to their discounted bundle price due to the extra weight and they most always understand. I don't get paid not do I work for Poshmark- Just try to help others if I can. Good luck to you :-)

If someone bargains with you and you agree with them on a price and they say they are going to buy, if they haven't bought it in a day or two and you still have it reserved is it rude to ask if they are still interested? (Don't want to keep it listed as reserved and keep other ppl from purchasing but don't want to have bad posh manners either!) What's proper posh etiquette in this situation?
Feb 13Reply

ashley1985
@meg23 Hey, girl. It's really not so much "etiquette" as it is a personal preference. I've been on posh for almost two years and have had people BEG for items, I hold, they never return. ??? Crazy, huh?? But it happens so often. I've finally resorted to 24 hour holds ONLY unless I've done prior business with the person.
One thing you should do is ask for a SPECIFIC time the person believes she will return to buy. "After I get off work" could mean in an hour or after I finish my 12 hour shift. You can do one of two things. You can set a certain allowance of time for the buyer to return to buy ( Ok, I will hold this for you for 8, 12, 24, etc more hours) OR ask the person directly, "What time allowance do you need and I will hold until that time". Your choice.
Either way, you could be missing out on a potential sale by holding. If I bargain a price for someone and then they ask to hold I say, "I will honor the price I gave you unless another buyer comes in the meantime and offers me the full amount I had originally asked for". Nothing wrong with that. It's really up to you.
Just make sure to communicate to the buyer where you both have an understood time frame. If and when the time arrives and the buyer has not come back to retrieve, you can send them a comment asking once more if they are ready to buy. If they ignore you or ask for a longer time frame, you may want to go ahead and take it off reserve until they have the funds/opportunity to buy. ( ALL MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE!)

@lgallo Welcome! (I sometimes take pictures ahead of time and post them later when I have more time- Kids ๐). You then "describe" your item. Color, does it fit true to size, ways to wear it, etc... Then list a price you bought it for (or an appx price) and then the price you'd like to set for it. Voila! Your done :) Easy peasy :)

Another tip for new users: make sure your item is accurately described! Brand, size, color, condition. Lots of users will search for "Sperrys Topsiders (brand)" but not just "boat shoes." I won't lie, I've been loving the color feature!

@ashley1985 hi: ) i have a question:) on the MK wallets do they have serial # inside tht show tht there authentic?? .. some ladies in here are selling some and say it does have it!
May 03Reply

ashley1985
@sandycoles Hi! I dont know about the wallets. They arent that expensive. If they are not leather, they are not real. I do know that not all M Kors bags have serial numbers. Hope this helps :)
May 03Reply

ashley1985
@sandycoles You can also google it. It should tell you which ones do have serial numbers, etc. if they do in fact have one.
