unruly_illusion As someone diagnosed with Asperger who is also a behavioral therapist for those with autism I ask that you do not donate to Autism Speaks. There are many worth while charities and Autism Speaks is notbone. Most of the money raised does not go to help people with autism. They also preach that the families of children with autism are effectively given a prison sentence. They do next to nothing for adults with autism and in their vast history have only ever had one board member with autism. Sadly that board member stepped down as he was ridiculed and ignored by the other members of the board. Autism Speaks shells out propoganda that is hurtful to the autism community. In short, Autism Speaks does not speak for me. I ask you to please find an actual charity to donate to.
