jenipoo Well 1 deployment is enough for any wife !!! It's just so hard to seem them go :( the best thing we can do for them from our end is to try to be available when they are able to call and write write write !!! This is what they look forward to . Btw What you are doing on here is awesome , what a great idea !

crystal_iris @jenipoo oh gosh.. I know.. Waiting and waiting for that phone call. A few times I have missed his call. Had the phone attached to me for weeks and left it for a few seconds and of course that's when he would call!! My heart would just drop. :/

crystal_iris @seburke I just joined recently and it has helped immensely to pass the time. This training he's in now is only 6 weeks, but with no contact at all it seems longer than his deployment! How old are your little ones?

michellelee5413 Thank u. My cousin was killed in Iraq 2 weeks before he was to come home. They sent all his belongings home and he never made it. SGT. Joseph Proctor. He received a Purple Heart and a gold star. First person since WW2. Look up Proctor Park in Whiteland IN to know more about him.

Love it❤I give care packages to my cousins all the time and I am a teacher so I get my students every year twice a year to write letters to my cousin and the troops!! He loves it he says people sometimes forget but not ME I am so proud of all those brave people who are still fighting for us to keep us safe!!! 👍👍👍❤❤❤❤

crystal_iris @cganz that's so awesome you have your students write notes to the troops! Before my husband joined the Army I didn't really know too much about it. I thought they just went over seas and died. So when my husband got back from his 1st deployment I was more than thrilled!! They thrive on mail, especially when they are in places where they can't communicate by phone or computer. Letters are definitely a special treat..along with candy!

cganz @crystal_iris oh yeah my students love it too! My cousin johnnie kimball lost both his mom and dad at an early age and he became a problem child! He has 8 brothers and sisters all successful and they were the one to put him in the military! He straightened up! He never came out! He moved up the rinks. He is in charge of a platoon now and they are family! He met his wife Courney on the base where her dad is in the fort they married has 3 kids and Courtney takes care of the kids! He gets deployed ALL THE TIME! But she is used to it! She is sad but says this is her life! After 911 he has been deployed to Iran Afghanistan all over and pray he comes home! I give you two thumbs up! God Bless you and your family! If you ever need to just talk tag me! 👍

obxy4u @crystal_iris exactly! His PTSD resurfaces a lot because of people like that, and all I can do is let him roll w it. I wasn't a military wife when he was in active duty, but I can only imagine what that is like.
