pistolera @dreamadj Yes, its hard when you see a friend struggle with the fight of their life and feel so helpless to be able to do much about it. I too am of limited means after getting laid off a few years ago, so I didn't have the financial ability to offer much support, but I am happy I discovered PM as it gives me a little peace of mind knowing I can help in some small way. My only regret is that I wish I had more time for PM to be able to contribute more to the fund my friends have put together as I now find myself working twice as many hours for half as much pay doing odd jobs and freelance work but I am grateful that I am able to get by when so many of my friends are suffering. Whatever spare time I can conjure goes to this and I help another girl in our circle organize whatever other collected donations we gather for a monthly flea market. This allows us to keep food on the table for a family fighting their way back to stability.

I was told I also required a hysterectomy this year but after strictly adhering to a special diet, combined with some alternative medicine and getting second (and third) opinions from other doctors I was able to avert major surgery in favor of less invasive treatment, which seems to be working for now, but lets just say I can truly empathize with your situation as I was absolutely terrified for awhile. I am so grateful for the support of our community that has banded together to support one another during our struggles. I wish you all the best and hope you get the surgery you need. PM has been both a way for me to be of service to others, while also being a source of inspiration during my own challenges, and for this I'm truly grateful. Stay strong and get well!

wanda1971 That is a great thing that your doing. I have been fighting cancer now for 8 years. My body and mind are so drained and so is my bank account Not to mention my husband had to jhave one of his kidneys removed last year because of cancer. We were both out of work at the same time. I tried to get help for bills and no one would help and we have 5 children Its an everyday struggle. What your doing helps her more than you know.

dorthi Doing the same thing on my site. I'm donating 50% of my profits to Cancer Research. They have come such a long way in their research compared to just a few years ago. I was diagnosed 5/14 & believe I wouldn't be here w/out all the new technology they've found. It's donations like this that are the reason so many women (& men) have been able to lead long healthy lives. You are an amazing woman. Trust me when I say your friend truly appreciates what you're doing for her.
