I am sorry that you went thru that, it is true that many vets have been found to neglect animals and it's why my goal is to keep my passion for animals a priority and not use them to make money. zeta13 I saw this and saw the comments and I can't get myself to read the story. I am a HUGE animal lover and probably wont be able to sleep if its as awful as I think it is. I'm sorry for your loss of your precious kitty!!!! :( I have 7 (I know you probably don't believe me but I do....swear I'm not a crazy cat lady haha) and I have no idea what I would do If I lost one of them. So far so good. But, I guess you never know. I wish you the best of luck with raising money and I will be sure to share your closet as much as I can! <3

thepunks We are adopting a beautiful 7 year old Golden Retriever, who had been a puppy mill breeder up until a month ago. Although she was spade and vaccinated as soon as she was rescued, we are having our very trusted vet check her out. I have just heard of some "get em in, get em out" vets out there. It freaked me out. I guess it's just like every other profession, there are good ones and really bad ones:-( animals are the epitome of innocence, we are their caretakers and it hurts when we fail from no fault of our own. Pretty cool you let your pain turn to anger and hopefully change!! Now on another note, thanks for all the shares!!! :-)

courtneysitz I just read this and I have a giant knot in my stomach knowing someone had to go through this. It's terrible to know how sick people can, to an extent of hurting someone's pride and joy. I can't even imagine the pain and suffering you and Simba had to go through. R.I.P Simba. 🙏

I'm a huge cat lover, I own 4 and one is literally my baby I've had her since her mama gave birth last June. I can't imagine anything happening to my cuddle bug 😭 It's so beyond wrong how cruel people can become towards animals. But people get what they deserve... Eventually.

kerensae Leesa, this pains me to read this very well written website and brings tears to my eyes. To imagine the pain and suffering Simba experienced and the emotional heartache you battled brings tears to my eyes. I tell very few people here on posh that I am a veterinarian, boarded in radiation oncology, but felt I wanted to share that with you. I am so ashamed that any veterinarian would allow this kind of animal abuse to occur much less impersonate a boarded specialist. The horror you experienced can never be remedied, but I know your love and passion for Simba will be felt by the pets you have now and always. I wish the past could be changed, but I think its commendable that you seek to educate the public on researching more about their pets healthcare as a way to vindicate the wrongs done to Simba. Your passion is admirable. I think your cause is so worthwhile, I hope to support you in the future! My heartfelt sympathies for your loss💜💜💜

stylingwithme No my torty sweet 6 yr old Persian died at the clinic. A VCA. I had safely taken my pets there for 9 years. If you patronize a Veterinary Center of America think more than twice. I thought stupidly if a couple were vets and she was GREAT he would be also. She is genius vet he is BAD. I'd like to do to him what he let happen to Zoë. TULSA's finest Ken Coldwell.

I just recently lost my beautiful 16 year old Naia as she crossed Rainbow Bridge in April. 😿 we sti can't figure out how she went from vital to completely blind and 7 a lbs loss in a matter of 2 weeks. All we know is that it started ever since she started taking eye/ear drops from the vet! She was in so much pain she but a vet tech and they called AC. I can't even tell u what happened next BC it's too horrifying!!! 😿🐾

arsbars @stylingwithme Omg!! Mine was beheaded BC of a VCA!!! They're the ones who called Animal Control BC she bit a vet tech on her deathbed- dying of cancer/lymphoma, anemia, kidney failure, and completely blind... We felt sooooo violated for her just imagining... 😿😤😩😢

I demanded my money back or a purebred Persian. Of course the vet lied about what happened so now they have to investigate again. I usually wait for karma to take over but I have a vendetta for these 2 vets & VCA! How on earth did they behead your kitty?

When any animal bites a person they're supposed to report it to AC. they then have to test the animal for any diseases to report it to the victim." In this case, since she had to be euthanized BC she was dying and in so much pain they had to take her head for spinal fluid since she has already crossed Rainbow Bridge 😢🙀😢 she barely broke any skin...

Vets can be pretty darn horrible unless your doc pol 😜 my rescue pup got parvovirus and because she was a rot the vet told my husband to put her down. He said they are vicious dogs and why would he want her around kids. Wow we went else where and she's still here :)

worcutestld @leesaash he advised my husband to let her die! Rather pay a few hundred to save her life. I wasn't there but after he told me we went else where (to a women vet) it cost 500 and the vet let me do payments and she saved her life :) her name is hachi :) I don't have a home ADT my rot watches over us :) the teen across the st. Can't sneak in his house with us knowing lol

melisakitt My sweet kitty, Fiona,10 days ago. She was a beautiful 16 y.o. grey tabby/calico mix.The vet came in, saw she hadn't been seen by him before and started talking about how mad it made him when people don't take care of their cats and he's seen cats live to be 25 and how we can't tell when cats are truly in pain. It left me feeling like a bad owner that had deprived Fiona of 9 years of life.The idea that she was in pain is what's crushing me inside. So very sorry for your loss. RIP Simba😿

kpownj Wow ... I work in a veterinary hospital and we do dental procedures. This is an outrage what happened to you kitty. Severe stomatitis would be the only reason to remove most/all teeth and that would be a last resort after antibiotic treatment and getting no relief. This man should loose his license. That extreme of a procedure would also require pre surgery antibiotics for a week prior to help avoid issues. Things like this make people afraid to get proper dental care from competent doctors.

reneeshereee I can't read the story honey, I'm sorry. I've been rescuing for over 20 years and I have seen horrors that have scared me to the point of no return. I do however still work with many rescues, advocates and activist. Please give us the info on the vet you have so we can help make the world a safer place.

shmataz @leesaash stay away from VCA if possible. We thought we’d done well in Ca using a local vet and lost both of our beloved cats in less than 2 years of moving here. New vet now, he is great! We are all in good company here. We are strong women making change! Poshmark is so much more than a clothing website!! We support each other in many ways.
