For now I'm sending my love all my prayers. God listens!!!!!! I am so sorry this is happening to you sweetie. Don't give up & never lose hope....EVER!!!!!!! Miracles happen every single day. Let me think & I'll be in touch. Hold your baby tight. All Gizmo needs right now is love. I promise you that. Dogs are much more resilient than we are. I rescue & do volunteer work with them the time. What a sweetie he is. :((((( This breaks my heart. You can go to my page & see what all my, Phoebe, has been through. There are soooooooo many ppl out there in the exact same situation . So you are not alone & feeling alone is the worst feeling in the world. Go read all the stories & maybe you will know how many others how hurting just like you, including myself. What would we do w/out our fur babies???? They ARE family. Period!!!!!!

lmpasternack @cocoamy if u have a copy of the vet estimate I would take a photo of it and post it. It helps people who may be skeptical that it is a scam. There are many people that are skeptics.

This nice lady is selling every high end item she can to help raise money QUICKLY to pay for her dog's surgery so he doesn't go blind. She has a receipt listed as well for the skeptic in all of us because of all the scamming jerks on here. She is not. 😇💔

cocoamy @lmpasternack I do have the estimate and as soon as I can get out of bed and go thru my box I will post it. I've been a little sicker than normal lately. I think I have another bowel obstruction and I ' m trying to delay a surgery b/c recovery is months and that will screw up Gizmos $ and surgery so I am waiting as long as I can.

cocoamy @lanirichmond he is pretty good. His appt to schedule the surgery is Dec 27th. So his surgery will be scheduled most likely in Jan. we r trying to schedule his surgery around my health b/c it's going to require major around the clock care for a couple weeks so jan is the target. I'm very nervous b/c of the risks but I know he needs it so I'm just not going to think too negative right now, but I'm scared. I just can't wait for it to be over and him be ok and it all be better and he have the rest of a healthy life with us. I appreciate all the help and without all this help I may not have been able to do it so you are all his angels. I will be posting pictures and updates about his recovery thru out Jan so everyone who helped can be part of the solution for Gizmo. It's scary, exciting and nerve wracking all at once.

lmpasternack @cocoamy hi Amy! I was just thinking of your Gizmo, I saw his appt is on the 27th. Good luck! What is the surgery they r doing? Now that I know more than enough about dogs and eye problems. I do have a dog with only one eye but it's ok. She suffered for a year before I got her. Now she is a happy, bouncy, barking normal pup. Yay! Buddy is healing up and we r over the hump with his infection going away. It's down to 20% infected vs 80%. Thank God!

cocoamy @lmpasternack he has aggressive early onset cataracts. They believe it is a genetic disorder b/c he is so young or he may have an underlining condition which we r checking for b/c that could mean adding other meds but they think his eyes are the main component but with some of these genetic disorders he could later develop other issues but he's been tested for so many and he's been negative. They think he may have been breed too close to his lines meaning (uncle is his father ) not good :-( . When we bought him we thought he was coming from a family home but when we got out there it was a total puppy mill and we wanted a girl but we took him b/c he was the last one of his litter and he would have ended up outside being used for breeding, so we basically saved him. It was disgusting all these Maltese outside in cages in the cold. We called local authorities but they said it was up to code. I was disgusted!! Just b/c they are kept clean does not mean they have quality of life. It was sad to say the least.

lmpasternack @cocoamy that is sad about the Puppy mill thing!!! I would call PETA or the ASPCA and get them involved. I'm not a huge fan of PETA at all but in this case I think something could be done to stop them! It makes me sick. As for your Gizmo's eyes, have you considered going out of state to see an eye specialist? I do not know how much that surgery is here but I would think the price is better than 4 grand. Of course u would have to add traveling cost as well. But we r not that terribly far away from you and you could stay here with your husband or whoever you would want along. I will call them at 8:30 when they open and find out k? They are fantastic at what they do. I mean I actually got a phone call on a Saturday night from one of the vet's there. He called to check on Buddy. Thad is unheard of these days. Huh? My one dog had emergency surgery on a weekend 8 years ago after my oldest dog bit him right on the eye. They had to repair his cornea with a graft and the surgery was only 850 or so. Just an idea. And by the way his eye has never had another issue 8 yrs later. Amen to that!!! Oh, you have to check out another closet today. I will tag you under her dog's picture. They rescued him and he is completely blind.

cocoamy @lmpasternack what's really bad about the whole thing is the flack I'm getting for spending the $ on Gizmos surgery when my son is a year from college. My in laws are completely against it. They think I'm crazy, so I won't be advertising it to them once it's done b/c they will not be happy.
