I'm a single mom of an awesome young man who attends Univ. of WA. In the last 8 years, I lost both of my sweet parents to cancer, but try daily to find ways to heal my heart. By day, I’m an engineer who loves to live life! After losing my boyfriend to colon cancer in early 2013 and then being diagnosed with breast cancer in mid-2013, I was crushed. Beside you have a lot on your own plate. I'm so glad your surgeries are over and pray the healing now begins. You've been on my mind constantly the past few days. gordomom @sharapost me too!! They did tell me that this last one would be so much easier than the other two but surgery is surgery, right? I couldn't believe it but I didn't even need any narcotics afterwards, just Tylenol a couple of times. Soooooo grateful. I just am in shock that I don't have to have surgery anymore (hope it stays that way). Is it really true? 😁🌟Sherry, you have been such a kind friend to me this year and I so appreciate you. 💝💐

gordomom @nugget_love No worries! There are so many people to keep up with on here so I don't expect you to remember details about me. 😊 2013 was definitely a rough year. Monday was actually the 1 yr anniversary of his passing so I've been even more emotional lately. However, he had such a great attitude which helped me through all of my surgeries (3 in 2013, one the week after PF) because no matter what I went through, I was going to survive and be strong. Oh yeah, I did have knee surgery in 4/2012 after I tore my ACL "chasing my kid" down the back side of Mt. Hood, so you definitely had that right. My knee has never been the same since but I'm working on it. At least I can wear heels now!! 😰. Thank you so much for checking in! I'm very glad I had a chance to meet you and your sis at PF!! 💝

The anesthesia definitely took a toll and my organizational skills seem to be on vacation. 😊 however, there's nothing like jumping back into the thick of it. 😄 thank you so much for the support. cjani How very nice to meet you. I live in OREGON and in June was diagnosed with stage 4 Sarcoma which is a very rare cancer. 1-2 people per million so treating it isn't easy because they don't yet know enough about . My primary interest with Posh is long scarves I wrap to cover my little round bald head and keep it warm..lol That and find clothing that is smaller than what I'm use to wearing since chemo has taken off a few lbs. I'm an artist, feeling good and enjoying my life to the fullest for as long as God Plans for me to be here. I have 3 grown sons 9 grandchildren and 2 more on the way....whew! You really made my first Posh Party fun, exciting, relaxing and comfortable. From getting pampered in the spa to relaxing in leather recliners with drinks in hand getting to know our fellow Portland Posher's. Thank you, the time and effort you invested into make this evening special was very noticable. I didn't want to leave when my driver showed up to pick me up. The gifts were insane! fifig23 My father had a stroke in 1996 when he was only 50 and at the top of his practice as an orthopedic surgeon. He had 5 children under 18. He fought his way back and it is a MIRACLE. A miracle. I support you 100%. That picture of you and your son is beautiful. 🌟

fifig23 You have already made my day and it's only 10am where I am! I am so so grateful that anything I said gave you motivation. There were some dark, dark days. There was one time when I saw my big, strong dad in the hospital and he looked like he had aged 20 years overnight. And I sat in the ER and he lay there, both of us with tears flowing down our faces. I cry as I write this. But he never gave up. He never gave in. And to see him now... God is good. I need to add a picture of my dad to my "meet me" listing. If you ever need an ear, I'm a good listener. 💐

He fought cancer on and off for about 12 years. To see him in a weakened state like that just broke my heart. I'm also here if you ever need to chat. That's what I love so much about PM. So many people support each other. 💝🌻

As an "aunt", I have an advantage in that I have all the fun, but I am not the evil lol lady that reminds about homework; cleaning the room , etc. All the best parts but not the disciplinarian! Boys that age are refreshingly honest and the filters are gone (hormones).. Lol It helps to take an interest in their interests! I still take my friends 16 year old to film festivals.. My friends college age step sons still call when home to come over and make cookies while having a chat over some video games ..... I am 100% honest with them as well (ok, I was a wild child 'in my day" so I don't tell them about my jaded youth unless, in doing so, it helps to relate and sometimes, they benefit from my mistakes!) Let them know you were a kid once! Share with him 😉 Right now, a lot he has going on he can't "put his finger on" and it helps to remind him you might "get" some of what he is going through... Any dialogue is good... Sometimes a "poker face" is warranted on your part.. But he will open up! Despite his best efforts and /or actions to the contrary.. He very much needs his mom right now... Deep down he knows this.. But is trying to assert his independence as well! Might not be sage wisdom, but this is how I relate to teens ! Pure, honest... And always ready to listen ! I find boys at that age talk more side by side.. More apt to share in a car... Or while casually hanging out ❤️

gordomom @lmpasternack oh, I'm sorry to hear that you have to endure pain, but I agree that there are so many exceptional people on PM. My only regret is that I can't get to know people better. While working on getting myself healthy again and making sure I don't lose my job, I'm not able to Posh as much as I once did. I definitely miss PFFs but Posh as often as I can. Meeting PFFs in person is one of the best therapies I've found! 💝

Thank you for sharing your story with me!! I've got 2 little ones, an almost 17 yr old daughter and a 12 yr old special needs little boy. My son had a traumatic brain injury in 2011, and prior to that and after my fiancée continued to struggle with alcoholism.

Perhaps Google metal smith studio in your area? I learned the basics on copper but now apply what I learned to silver. 💝

pixiedo Michelle @gordomom it takes a positive outlook to thrive when diagnosed and obviously it is working for you. Finding something that feeds your soul & uplifts the spirit is essential. My stress therapy is my camera, getting in my gardens or just cranking the radio and singing (poorly, I might add) along. I thought about moving to FL, but my mom and dad moved to Seattle just a few years ago for his cancer treatment. He didn't make it, so we try to visit my mom as often as possible.

Dedicated everything you can imagine Plus items we cannot sell on PM I have an area for wrapping packing etc. and a place to take pics. Have you tried that app. Letgo yet? Multiple myeloma is considered non curable but treatable & my dr & I are beyond ecstatic, I'm just still wrapping my head around it❤️My Grace is a size 7, she loves Rose Quartz but prefers bling! So the shinier the better😂🌹

Unless they're manufactured in a OTC lab they're only required to have 30% of what they say they have and the source is very important too... Otherwise not much value! gordomom @kit_kidm on the shipping, I did that recently and Posh marked it as shipped, then told me to confirm when it was received by the buyer (I did this in the listing so Posh could see it) and then notified them to update it as delivered. They did recommend asking the buyer to cancel and repurchase as a bundle. To be continued...

gordomom @jessalicious_99 Hi Jessica - it’s a new feature that I’ve heard is being rolled out in phases. It allows you to send an offer to all who like an item. It works even if you have previously lowered the price during CCOs, so that you can still notify potential buyers if they missed a CCO notification. You do have to send at least $1.50 off shipping as part of the deal (or free if you’d like). I’ve heard mixed reviews, including that buyers feel like it’s a way of spamming.

Seems like a bate and switch! Is she obligated to send me the original item I purchased? Should I report the seller for "unsupported item?' This all just seems wrong and doesn't leave me with a positive feeling.

gordomom @jens_corner also, I’ve had issues where I couldn’t find an item that I sold, so I had to cancel. Not sure if either of those happened. The unsupported items are typically items that don’t comply with Posh policy (video games, furniture, anything against USPS policy like perfume...I even saw a pizza posted once) 😄 I think I would just say no thank you to the non-Tiffany offer, move on and look for another similar item.

At first, I was very sympathetic when she told me that she had sold her sister's jewelry by mistake, and offered to exchange the Tiffany necklace I had bought for a Tiffany ring. I was willing to work with her but, then she rescinded the offer, once again. She did this a total of three times, she kept changing her mind - to any offer she initiated.

It was one of the few places my mom asked for us to bring her. I will definitely reach out when I plan. I’ve actually cleared with my boss to work remotely while I’m out there so that I can extend my trip. 😊

scarlettstained @gordomom hi Sweetie!!!!❤️oldest daughter married I did all the florals,designed cake myself w/ decorator,did all the fabrics &food catering yikes!I bought a 2 story 1/2 constructed cabin on 6 acres right beside my home &she wanted to have her wedding in it instead of the church so I had to make a false drop ceiling event style from fabric because ceiling was not finished yet in the house! I made a pulley system&a hoist on 200lb rope.,hung a chandelier in center,made 2 arches done in sunflowers!

scarlettstained My brother also has pneumonia! I’ve been praying like crazy as he was a preemie 1lb at birth with holes in heart and lungs so very vulnerable.im so sorry your son battling this too! I know how scary it is both my grammas passed last year both pneumonia.but younger people are usually stronger to bounce back.ill pray for full recovery of your son my friend!

If you haven’t already become a PA, I would recommend it as it helps your following and can be used for marketing. Other than that, I recommend engaging as you did here. I think following and sharing increases when there is genuine engagement. Hope that helps! 💝

Very slow and videos tough with classroom too.we are making it through. I luckily bought a jumbo pack of toilet paper before this pandemic hit! Lots of beans in the pantry!! scarlettstained @gordomom thanks sweetie! You’re such a doll.We are good grocery stores here are still stocking food just tiny quantities.so if you don’t go early morning 1/2 the shelves are bare. But at least stores still open. They have closed so many state borders.How are things in your town?

marymax999518 @gordomom Hello again, No, unfortunately my brother is no longer at UW. He was the eldest son and was genius level, he was fluent in languages; he spent time in South Korea and Japan. Several years ago he was hit and killed by a drunk driver in the Boston area. I read that you are an engineer, hats off to you as that is not an easy job. Our area has been hit hard with the pandemic and I hope we all manage to survive it. We humans are so fragile! Stay healthy!
