My Husband lost his job & I'm disabled! I was saving for surgery whn he lost his job & we now needed to use it for bills! I'm selling all I can. Even things I hadn't planned on. I have tons of electrical, HDMI, video, mic, amp/studio cables that aren't listed. If u need something u don't see, pls ASK if I hv it, as I'm willing to sell ANYTHING. I've sold some, but for rent+surgery, I need $340 total. If I can at least get $290 to not be evicted, I'll hold off on surgery & deal with the pain!:-/

jbear @kenzies_kloset i don't know the situation or what state you are in, but I know the state I'm in will not "legally" evict for a few months of past due rent.. Unless you signed a lease that states otherwise. You should look into getting help from the state if you haven't already. Just go onto your county website.. A lot of counties will also help out with electric bills and pay your heat for the winter months. I know there is nothing better then cash in most circumstances but try to weigh your options and see if you can get help with rent. Since your hubby just lost his job I'm almost certain that you will be able to get *some* type of help or assistance. Again, I don't want to be in your personal business but I have friends who were in similar situations and our county social services helped them get back on their feet for a few months. If you have kids especially they will do whatever they can to provide your family a stable living situation. good luck & I'm sorry this had to happen to you over the holidays :(

kenzies_kloset @jbear hey momma....no it's totttaaalllly ok, I put my business out there because I know what a kind network of women I've met on here and a lot of ppl understand one another and remain open even if just to share. Unfortunately I live in Las Vegas. I'm originally from NJ/NY where u could never get someone out this soon. But in Vegas, it's SUPER DIFFERENT. If it's 120°, which it got to 126° this summer....no joke....they are STILL allowed to turn your air off after a 10 day grace period if u don't at least put a down payment down. I hv a townhouse so it's hard. They can turn the heat off if it's freezing. And if u are over the 15th and the rent was due on the 1st, u get an eviction notice, go right to court, and being my husband is totally healthy, and the lease is in his name, they wd hv grounds to evict us. If it was me, and I didn't hv enough and was disabled, the court gives u more time. Basically, everything that's illegal elsewhere, like gambling (in many places), prostitution (but yet the Nevada Bunny Ranch has it's own HBO tv show), carrying a concealed weapon, etc. are allllll legal here. Here, it's even legal to drive without a hood to your car. Yes, in dead ass serious. Also, if your family is poor, and u hv to help them by working, even though legally u can't work til ur 16., especially in a casino town, you're allowed to get a provisional permit at 13&1/2 and a provisional license to drive to work at age 14 on grounds that u help support ur family. Idk I thought that'd be child labor or something, ya know?! I could go on and on but the basic human rights, like just paying late fees and paying ur rent along with next month's rent are not afforded in the community in which where I live. On the up side I hv an AWESOMMMME property manager that I love to death, who knows about my situation and knows how hard it is and joined Posh herself just to share it on fb and stuff. She can make a lot of calls herself but after a certain time she cd lose her job by allowing my being late to not turn into an eviction. It's a lot to handle. There was once not one, but 3 community help centers in Vegas. I know about them cuz bring disabled, I know others who had been in this same dilemma. Last year, they dropped two programs because so many people here were out of work, it bankrupted both programs. There was one left. Last year. It's building still stands but when I called, they said they are too, now, not sure if they will be awarded anymore government funding. And if they do get some, it will not even be known about until January 15th 2014. I even called a CHURCH and they said they can only afford the elderly, ppl with kids or feeding the homeless. Which I totally get but it makes u wonder about living here. I came here for the weather, as it stopped my pain from going thru a windshield at 75 mph after being rear ended. (Sorry for the long post but maybe I needed to get it out cuz I'm trying so hard to do all I can). Long story short, we had a little savings and complications from my injury and waiting for Medicare to go thru after he lost his job AND medical care led to other severe injuries/illnesses like seizures and things and I needed many surgeries over a short amount of time. I think that being this place is really only fun to visit, and the headache of this struggle outweighs the bit of pain relief I get from the weather, we will attempt to leave after I sell all I can. Opportunity is DEAD here. Unless it's an art-form or casino job. I know I'm a chick, but after cosmetology school I went bk to school for music production. I owned a music studio and lost it all after not one but 3 accidents from behind while stopped. My husband was 2 months shy of tenure as a high school English teacher, 9-12, and Vegas just let 3,200 teachers go-JUST LIKE THAT. PUT IT THIS WAY......there is a North Las Vegas and regular Vegas. Like an uptown and downtown. VEGAS IS SO BROKE THEY HAD TO CUT OUT THE WHOLE ENTIRE JAIL AND COURT OF NORTH LAS VEGAS. It's just gone. There's nothing here that stayed the same after the economy collapsed. My hubby took another job that just let him go, which was at a loan bank. Ppl were literally selling wedding rings and everything to take out loans, lose it all at a casino just to try and get lucky, sell some more things, and come back for more loans and then be stuck in a viscous cycle of interest. It tore my husband up to see how desperate they all were. It SUCKS to live here. It's awesome to hang and then go bk to the real world. Again, thank u so much for your help, and ALL of your shares and helpful knowledge because had I not known all of the places to look, you were actually quite accurate and that was really kind if you to take the time to write and just very thoughtful. Thanks J. (Idk ur full name, so hope that works.) I will return the favor, as I know everyone is dealing with their version of hard times. Like....this may sound like a lot, but truthfully, I could hv cancer or be a victim of that Typhoon in the Philippines. I really feel blessed for the roof that's still over my head and the shares and purchases from all u lovely ladies. Ur amazing and I'm glad to know you all.
