@serahnee yes you can go to the coach store and they can eighter send it out if they are fixable also if not they will give you eighter a credit or a percentage off a bag this what we did in my store I worked in

@serahnee the seams they might not fix only the hardware bring one in to your nearest coach store and ask them what they can do there are usually good with accommodating there customers

Hi Laura...thanks for this post! I have a question about a cross body I have. It's from the Coach outlet so I know it's authentic but it doesn't have the square serial number patch inside. It does have the YKK on the zipper. Why wouldn't it have the patch? Or not all have one? Thanks!

I have a question.... I was reading on another closet that Coach bags that came from Coach factory were not Authentic Coach bags and should not be sold as such. Is that right? I just thought they were clearance or last years bags?? It also said they don't have the same warranty and you can't have it fixed in a Coach store. How do you tell if it's from Coach factory or from the coach store?

@jakeamom12 the coach bags from the coach factory outlets are authentic I don't know why someone would say there not but they are real they will have the letter f infront of the style number the bags are specially made for the outlets they also get last years bags as well so u will find bags from the store as well when I worked with coach at the end of season we would ship out the older bags to the outlets as far as the warrenty goes that I am not sure of

Hi doll!! I had read that they will never have plastic or wrappings on the handles (as if freshly out of package). True?

Quick question. I saw a coach bag that has a YKK zipper on the inner pocket but not the outside zipper... is that a red flag? It has the patch on the inside with the correct identifying numbers. TIA

fyi.. YKK is a zipper manufacturer and many zippers have it. Def not a tool for authentication of anything. Just wanted to let you know :)

If the serial number is like wrote in and not branded into the patch is it fake n the C's are not lining up where there's a seam I was always told that a true coach continues where the pattern left off it's never off like that. I got a girl telling me she bought it from coach store but I have a few doubts. I thought the creed number was always branded in not stenciled where it can wear off. Also I was told if there's c's on the inside they will not be on the outside n vice versa. Can u let me know if this is correct thanks 😀😀😀

@bellafiore4 I honestly believe that there are many more fakes out there than real Coach bags and accessories :(. :(. Some of them are such pathetic fakes that it doesn't seem to take more than a glance to see this! Unfortunately, I have reported dozens of these sellers and the fake bags, but for the most part, I still continue to see many of the same ones still circulating around. I cannot understand why Posh Security does not shut them down for good. This must be a very serious and rampant problem since I see it constantly :(. Do you have any idea why these closets do not get shut down? I am a firm believer in playing by the rules!!

Just a side note as I've been authenticating designer bags for a resale store for about 5 years. The outlet bags recently started using a different zipper not the YKK but I can't remember the name. Also they stopped putting the creed in smaller bags. Older factory bags don't have the F either but a little bullseye in the upper left corner of the creed.

Laura sorry to bother u but I have a coach Q. This lady bought my coach waist pouch and reported it as not authentic 😢. Since I know u're a coach bag expert can u help me out? I bought the bag a loooong time ago in the coach str here in ny by seaport. It's one of those older styles that does not have serial numbers.

@bellafiore4 Laura coach told me that the Ykk has even been reproduced by the fake ones too.. I am upset but i know i cant do anything about it.. The older ones, well before 12/15 will still have numbers and that will work for awhile for us , but the market is certainly going to be inundated with fakes. We really need to brush up on being able to tell in other ways. I only hope the smart buyers will hang onto their receipts.. They are going to be like gold. Might even drive the price up for us to sell .

Laura, I heard something about it but certainly don't know all of the details. I don't like it though & I have one of the newer ones from coach & it didn't have the numbers in it so I called coach directly and they confirmed. And i also asked about a little tag in the inside with numbers and she said actually no, that would actually be easier for the thieves to duplicate as well. I did also hear that they will be going without the leather tags maybe by the end of the year . To just burn the creed into the leather or stamp it in somehow. I heard that last year from a retail coach person. Maybe they changed their minds.. And decided to just remove the numbers.. ❤️❤️

@jakeamom12 I was just reading a post you had in @bellafiore4 on COACH purses from the factory stores. Regarding the warranty I know I had purchased one from our outlet & it was ripping. I took it back & they sent it in to repair it then they shipped it back to me. It's interesting too because the COACH purses I had seen that came from the stores didn't say they were made in China, but the ones from the factory stores would along with as Laura mentioned the letter F before the numbers. But now all of them must say they are made in China. Sometimes you will find the same purses in the Outlets as the regular COACH stores just in less popular colors.

They also have great tips on how to restore bags that are vintage or just have a little dirt from use. I'm new here and trying to part with many, many Coach bags, most of them I bought and never used...but it's so hard to part with my beloved babies. Lol

I recently purchased 3 bags from eBay...they all arrived on the same day and much to my dismay they were ALL fake!! Two were from the same seller, one had a placard but no number and the other number was formatted all wrong. The other bag looked real at a glance but the s/n didn't add up and when I researched it, it was a fake. Another give away was the outer and inner C's I've learned that occasionally Coach does have the C's on both but it is a rare design when they do that

I contacted both sellers and insisted on a full refund including my shipping charges and advised them if they want it returned they must pay that as well. I'm waiting to hear from them, but let them know if I don't have a refund immediately I will contact local police, eBay, dispute the payment, and that, if reported, they could be liable for mail fraud due to interstate transportation of counterfeit merchandise via USPS.

I'm selling a lot of my Coach bags, most but not all were purchased new or directly from Coach or authorized seller, but I always do my research to provide info on what I'm selling. I told the two sellers that even if they were not aware that they were selling counterfeit merchandise, it was their responsibility as the seller to know what they were selling. Those bags were so bad that when I opened the box my dog knew they weren't real. lol

I have some really vintage Coach bags my mom bought in the 1980's/early 1990's that someone reported as fakes on ebay, though i know the purchase origin. I called Coach & they verified the serial #'s. I just acquired a VERY VINTAGE Coach that only has a small black metal tag that says "Coach" in gold letters on the inside, BUT it has the original little Coach pamphlet w/ details about the bag enclosed (paper's even yellowed!). I'm in the process of trying to date it.

@sherriscience hi did u buy it this year if so coach has started not using the numbers in their bag any more why I don't know why they did that but they still have the ykk on the zippers the older coach will still have the Id patch inside ☺️

@bellafiore4 wish I would have read this sooner. :( bought 4 bags from my friend and neighbor( so I thought haha), down the street, a week ago. Paid a bit, but seemed like a great deal. I am a Dooney and Hermes girl> not much experience with Coach. I do believe I got the shaft. After researching and referencing this post, I know 2 of the 4 are fake. Have to destroy 2 and out $150. Expensive lesson to learn the hard headed way (usual in my case lol).

@bellafiore4 o yes I went to the Coach store in Grand Prairie, Tx, 3 days ago and they confirmed 2 of the 4 are fake. Now my neighbor/ex-friend, will not answer my texts or calls. Ty. Next venture I will get pics and consult you 1st before a buy. Not happy, but lesson learned. I had no idea about Coach purses except the 2 I had, 1 mine, 1 daughters, and I bought those at the store myself.

That is so interesting. Thank you! I just check my coach purse and sure enough the ykk is on the zipper. But I don't think that is true of their wristlets/clutches. I have 2 that I bought from the coach store the same time as the purse and there isn't a ykk on the zipper, but something that looks like a 54 or a serial number
