@vivianvca hello there! When u use PayPal for a transaction, you do two things: you bypass the posh commission of 20% (which is prohibited on here) and Poshmark will not support your transaction....and that means no protection for the buyer OR the seller. Poshmark charges the 20% to cover their costs....just like eBay or any other selling venue. Basically, the app gives you the platform and the potential buyers for free, and this is just the typical costs of doing business. I understand it can be tempting to go against this policy, but in the long run, you protect yourself by not using PayPal. I understand people use it all of the time, but to me it's not worth losing my SU status or getting a bad rap over.

@vivianvca if you buy through the app, there is a protection policy covering your sale and the buyers purchase. This policy states that when you purchase, you will get what is described to you in the listing. If you buy something that is damaged, you have the option to NOT accept the item and it keeps you safe. Poshmark will look into your purchase and determine if something has been misrepresented and side with the most appropriate party. Make sense? This listing isn't meant to ruffle anyone's feathers, just serve as a reminder that people should be aware of how they handle their transactions. There are MANY honest Poshers, and unfortunately some who aren't so honest. I'm not saying everyone who uses PayPal is dishonest, I'm saying it's an option that I choose not to promote for several reasons. I think the only ones it may ruffle are the ones who use it, I feel the same way though. People intentionally are breaking the rules. And posh can't possibly monitor everyone's account, so, it's like your being a vigilantly 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️

@joannamichele81 I've shared some too & didn't realize it....I was just intent on returning shares and not paying attention....I'm sure I still do from time to time but I'm trying to be more attentive....I know everyone isnt perfect, and I'm not claiming to be myself....I did things I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to when I first got on Posh & didn't realize what I was doing, the key is knowing and not being intentional. I didn't either...I have sold on PayPal, sold prohibited items...did things I probably shouldn't have.....the DIFFERENCE in that is KNOWING your mistake, and NOT REPEATING it.....(I'm not talking in ALL CAPS to you....just being dramatic😜) i will look to see if I can find it for you....this listing is mainly for people who "know" what they are doing....keep doing it repeatedly, and expect me to support them.....that is when I decided to "draw the line" so to speak.....no harm no foul chicky❤️😋

@love0214 awww....DKP is an awesome group of ladies for sure❤️ as far as allowed items goes....go to your user name in the bottom right hand corner of the app....and then look for the "FAQ" section....you will see (a few paragraphs down) where it tells u what u can and cannot list....perfume and nail Polish is prohibited solely because of shipping (USPS doesn't support flammable items to be air shipped....and once an item leaves our hands, we can't control how it is shipped....know what I mean?😋❤️). I'll be glad to take a look at ur closet...I'm by no means a guru, and I definitely don't know everything....but I'll be glad to help u in any way that I can❤️❤️❤️. @pigeonheart it does look shady...& it can be very risky as well. I know people want to get around the 20% but honesty, it a FAIR cost when all things are considered. Shipping is truly fair as well with the exception of very small items....that's the only set back on the shipping that I've found. The pricing on larger bundles is amazingly fair....the ones who really gripe about it should step back and see what it would cost them otherwise to ship priority themselves....they would find out REAL QUICK that Poshmark shipping is truly a great deal

I agree wholeheartedly. I get asked all the time about paypal and trades. Not as much since I listed that I don't participate at the top of my closet. I try to share a lot every day, and I never share prohibited items, but I have shared from closets and then find something that shows they use paypal. I will have to start screening more closely. I am on here 3.5 months, and am still trying to learn who to follow. Some of the guidelines say to follow people with your same style and sizing, but that seems limiting. Any tips are always appreciated, and you do this well!

I have used pp for many years elsewhere but never here and say so in my profile. The reason so many people do, is because the no paypal rule seems to be more of a suggestion than a rule. It ends up pitting the pp users against the non pp users. I have had to block people from rude comments because I won't buy from them with pp or take their lower offer with pp. They boldly advertise pp on their profiles, give email addresses to deal offline and all in plain sight. Until Poshmark decides to take action and give these people notice and then actually remove them from the website, it will continue to be a problem. It isn't like these people are doing it undercover.

I like both ideas you came up with. We can switch off half hours or just split up the time by an hour each group. I think it would look better if we dived up the half hours, that way were all showing up in the feed. I'm not sharing any of my own either so if we could share at least one from each other's closets it think that's fair. What do you think? Share one from each of our closets of do you want to do more? I just don't want to end up with 10 HPs from a party I hosted myself you know?

This is such a good point, I'm not a suggested user, so not held to that higher standard you are but I've been so worried about maintaining posh etiquette and returning shares rather than realizing that obviously rules trump etiquette *face palm* If first you don't follow the rules, you don't earn the etiquette. Maybe I will also go check my likes and see if any of them use paypal and then ask them if they are interested...I kid kid. Good message, we should all be more diligent if we want a better community.

You can always edit your profile to say whatever you want....it is helpful to put that there, when party hosts search for closets to share listings from, it is nice to see that to alert them that you aren't using it. It's not that PayPal is a bad com pay, it's that it bypasses the Poshmark commission and doesn't protect the buyer or seller on the app. Thank you for following that guideline, that's pretty awesome! Love the description! I've never once used pp on here and I think I would feel morally wrong if I did! I don't understand how someone can use such an awesome FREE site that posh has provided, let's you post hundreds of listings as many times as you want for free - no listing fees like eBay/etsy etc. And then to use a 3rd party (paypal) and take sole monetary gain for themselves. Oh and then use poshs shipping bc it's safe, insured and easy to track. Seriously? But you can't give them their 20% that they deserve??Completely blows my mind. I really appreciate you letting me use your idea on the pp sharing post bc it's always really bothered me when I see users who sell that way. I don't want to share their items, or even sell to them. Just makes me feel like I'm betraying posh as a whole. I guess it's just the bigger picture ya know?

@kimmiedee Love this! I've been doing the same thing & thought about adding a listing like this to my closet to say I won't share if you don't follow PM rules...especially those using PP. But even sellers who list outside Posh guidelines and sell crazy stuff like appliances, hide-da-key rocks, sex toys etc. I learned real quick & all I was selling was hair spray. No mas! @kimmiedee PP and Trade requests get me every time! Oye! Over the summer, I borrowed a listing from my friend Penelope @couturegirl .. It is funny... But it actually has cut down on people asking about PP/TRADES! Oddly enough... I have seen suggested users that, while getting "my share on" I noticed they take PP :( Pp is stealing from Poskmark.. Who only takes 20%.. I have worked at and still do a lot of work with consignment shops.. Here in NY... It is a 60/40 split.. 60% goes to the consignment store!!!! 20% here is a nominal fee IMHO ;) I am always surprised at the complaints!! Oh, I am Caren, it is a pleasure to "meet" a like minded seller!

@tmaddox22 good question....1) when u use PayPal u bypass Posh commission, which is modest as compared to most consignment stores (most consignment stores utilize the 60/40 rule...with the seller only getting 40%, with Posh u get 80%) 2) PayPal is not support by Posh customer service, and when u use it, you run the risk of getting scammed (paying and not receiving the item or it being damaged and not as described) almost 100% of every scam I see on here involves PayPal. Go through the app and you have protection against fraudulent sellers❤️ I use PayPal for other online purchases like eBay and such, I just don't do it here. Hope that helps you!❤️❤️

@kimmiedee hi kimmiedee! Love your closet!! I noticed you are a huge user of poshmark and I'm learning a Lot from this post of yours as well as the great community you built. I was wondering if you can give tips on how I can get selected for a host pick item or even how the selections work! It seems no matter how hard I try mine just never gets selected :(

@tiggerfriendly hey sweetness...I truly don't think it's anything you are doing or not doing that is resulting in your not being picked...it's really just easy to get lost in the posh world sometimes unfortunately. Try to gain more of a following (follow people, share others items) and they will usually return the favor. The more exposure you get the better off you are😘❤️ best of luck to you and many happy sales!!!

Hi, I'm new here, you profile looked like you have been doing this for a while. I wanted to find out about the Payment part if you don't use The frowned upon payment to protect posh mark then what do you use? Is it protected? And how do I get it or set it up?

@littleashley hello there and welcome!! I've never had an issue regarding the safety of payments...the app walks u through set up of your payments...I chose to have mine direct deposit into my bank acct when I request it. Keep in mind that funds are available to you until the buyer "accepts" it upon delivery (or 3 days post delivery if no issues were reported). Hope that helps!❤️

@littleashley 😜when u sell something, you will receive an email that includes a priority mail shipping label attached that is good for up to 5Lbs...if u need more weight, u can buy additional shipping ❤️❤️
